After going to the Dairy Farm, our first major stop was the Chokjai Steak house. It sits right along the south side of the highway. So if you are traveling east, you will have to go further along and take the first u-turn to get to the restaurant. The steakhouse itself is part of a larger ensemble of buildings making up the Chokjai Farms. However, we were only interested in the restaurant. When you first walk in you will notice the restaurant has a rustic fill to it. There is the typical foyer areas with various items for sale. The walls have dark branches attached to them with cattle skulls hanging on them. It immediately reminded me of the American west. There are trees inside the main dinning areas which gives it a very inviting look when you enter. Other areas of the building had stones with dark grey, gold and dark copper coloring. It really did remind me of something I would see in Colorado. The Wall have selected pictures of Western Film icons, such as John Wayne. All in All, it was a very good experience and somewhat unexpected. In terms of dinning, the group ordered a T-bone, Porter House, and Salmon. The steaks arrived with a few Vegetables, potatoes, and a small salad. I preferred the T-Bone steak the best. Another delicious item I ordered was their Beef Sausage. I thought this dish was excellent. I would say the prices were kind of expensive but it really didn’t detract from my overall experience. We don’t eat here everyday and it certainly was a great place to eat for a holiday or special meal. All the group enjoyed the meal so I would recommend it to anyone traveling in the area looking for a good steak or beef sausage. Bonus, they don’t have samples, but I took a chance and bought a small pack of their smoked jerky. It was delicious and everyone in the group who tried it agreed. Finally, we topped it off with some of their homemade ice cream. I got the chocolate and thought it was good,...
Read moreIf you know your food and expect food for the price you are paying...don't visit here. Mediocre at best.
Steak was cold- served twice, once on a cold plate, then on a iron plate...now overcooked....no sauce was offered nor supplied with the gold standard steak these guys pretend to offer. Effort and expertise these guys claim to have is disappointing.
I brought my family here for lunch (Thai and Farrang) The "Dry aged" steak was literally shoved in our face when we sat down. No real menu was given, only a QR code, how do you expect my parents to order a 2000b steak from an app?? (This isn't disney world is it? lol)
When we declined saying we would rather have the regular Filet Mignon, we were told it was sold out...then the waitress returned again with the over priced "Dry Aged Filet Mignon"...however, the Filet had fat on it. Do ChokChai really know their steak? Or just taking advantage of customers who don't know any better. Without making too much of the scene, and the chef not bothering to come out and find out why his food was served cold and incorrect, we decided to leave. Staff speak wonderful Thai, but it seems they are very afraid of the chef or the owner, only 1 staff member spoke english, poor guy, he did his best to cover up for the "Steak House" grievances...
Maybe you will be lucky when you visit, make sure your Fillet Mignon doesnt have fat on it and when it arrives at your table it is Medium rare as you ordered it and not as the chef wants you to eat it. meh too much effort spent on this review....
Read moreMy "New York Striploin" medium-rar was very disappointed, the chef couldn't get a nice crust on it because the piece of meat weights around 120 Gramm with a 5mm of thickness. It looked like a piece of meat heated up in hot water and for a few seconds on the grill to get a few black stripes of the grill to let it looks like it was grilled. I got shown what kinda Steak cuts they offered at the time I ordered and they looked like each pieces weights around 200-250 Gramm so I kinda feel cheated on. All in all I paid 1.408 Bath for my Steak + 1 Beef sausage, 2 pieces of broccoli well cooked, 2 pieces of young/small hard boiled carrots, small portion of salad, 1 piece of white bread+butter, extra fries and a small battle of water. This bill in comparison I could have bought 1kg of foreign Roastbeef cook it up myself and feed 5 foreign people or 10 Thai people's till they are fed up. Dry aged isn't worth it and looked not very appetising after it was cooked. Most of the bills I hope it went to the employee's because the food wasn't worth that money and with the atmosphere of the Steakhouse i won't get fed up enough.
