FAT BOY Tavern — Restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

yesterday was the first time we visited this place. Drove almost one hour for this. But it did not disappoint at all. We were 5 minutes early, but a waiter came outside, greeting us and brought us to hour table. So professional this waiter was, I cant get it out of my head. He gave us the menu and asked us for drinks. Then he left and came back with the drinks. Then he asked for what we wanted to eat. I had made my choice already from the pictures on internet, but my guests (my wife and my brother in law) looked through the menu and asked many questions to the waiter which he answered promptly. Very professional. Finally they also ordered, mainly Esan food. I had ordered some apetizers , like shrimp rice crackers, bruschetta, and ceasar salad and to my big surprise they indeed came as apetizers. In most every thai restaurant they are served the moment the main course already came, or even at the end, or totally forgotten, but not here. After enjoying all 3 the apetizers , the main courses were served. O boy, that was goos. I did try some of that esan food, but really to spicy for me. I stuck to Bacon FriedRice and Gai Pad med Mamuang, one of my favorites. Unfortunally they do not have Khao Pad Sapparod. But all with all, we really enjoyed the dishes. Great service, great atmosphere, great food. What do you want mor. We had like 10 dishes, and payed 2150 thb. Not the cheapest but...

Again the same as everyone says the music is too loud , it's not a night club , people go there to talk but it's impossible to talk and chill out over a meawhen the music is too loud . Even have speakers outside real loud too so you can't escape it . I spent all night shouting to my friends . Why is it the owners are so stupid they don't understand that if you are trying to present a classy restaurant you need the music in the background . The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food as in many places in Thailand is ok but nothing to shout about considering the price , could take a long time to get your complete order . I loved this place. The food was good. The BBQ ribs and steak fries were great. The BBQ nachos, ok. My fiance got prawns and they were good. I got a buy one get one Budweiser.
