Food is fusion. If you want to find traditional western food it is not the place. It serves both European and Thai food. The taste is good. Prices of food is pricy for what it is but not outrageous.
The design of the place is spacious and pleasant, but we sit next to a big aircon, kind of strange and a little noisy. Luckily it is not too cold like many restaurants in Thailand.
Service is professional.
The only negative and why I gave 3 stars is the drinks are super expensive. There is an impressive bar counter in the centre of the restaurant, with a long list of drinks. Fresh orange juice costs 140 baht. A lemon soda is 120 baht, from bottle, not fresh juice. Very little lemon taste. There was piece of lime in it. Maybe it was meant to be lime soda. But a kilo of lime in Thailand now costs 20 baht! Strange enough, beers are not in the menu and are only in small bottles. It turns out 1 small bottle of Budweiser costs 160 baht, while in the supermarket it is about 50 baht. Complete rip off. It makes you suspect it is the management's agenda, to rip off customers. Will consider seriously whether to go back or will not order any beer or even any drinks other than water if we do. It will deter...
Read moreWe recently had dinner at Fable Feast, located in La Baris Hotel in Khao Yai. Overall, the experience was decent with some strong points but also a few misses.
The food was excellent — I ordered a lobster bisque and beef tenderloin risotto, both delicious. However, the timing was off: my risotto arrived first, and just a couple of minutes later, the soup. That made it hard to enjoy both properly.
Our daughters had margherita pizza, which was good, and a carbonara to share. Unfortunately, it was extremely peppery, and they couldn’t eat it. When I mentioned this, the server offered to pack it up, but after we declined, it was simply taken away and thrown out — a bit abrupt.
On the positive side, they took my wife’s gluten allergy very seriously. We brought a gluten-free card, and the staff checked everything thoroughly with the kitchen, then came back to our table to discuss what was safe. That level of care was impressive.
One odd thing: I ordered a small Chang beer and was told about a promotion — buy two, get three. I agreed, but was surprised to receive three half-liter beers!
In total, we paid almost 4000 baht (about €100), which felt a bit steep for the...
Read moreVery stylish loft style restaurant with beautiful swimming pool and strolling area right outside. BUT the food was very disappointing. Almost everything we ordered was too sweet. First let's start with garlic breads, they were sweet as if they mistakenly put sugar on top. Secondly, focaccia bread wasn't focaccia at all and taste and texture was like a normal bread you can get at any bakery. Margherita's tomatoes were so tiny we almost couldn't taste anything. The pizza crust was also a little sweet and too thin with too less cheese. The garden salad's balsamic sauce was too sweet, so as salmon cucumber salad. The only thing that tastes okay was truffle mash potatoes, but would've been better if not too creamy. As far as I read the reviews, people who gave 5 stars are mostly Thais (are some of them hired?), and foreigners' reviews seem more honest with many of them pointing out similar things.. Sadly the pricing wasn't cheap. Bangkok Sukhumvit price. Hopefully the restaurant improve the taste of their food, maybe have all chefs try more authentic food and learn from them or at least make the...
