Wow! Daeng Definitely lives up to its name “best Nam Nuang in Thailand!” Their Nam Nuang, of course, is a must try item. The pork is extremely aromatic combined with crunchy vegetables and herbs topped off perfectly with crushed peanut dipping sauce. Their ingredients are very traditional, maintained from when Nam Nuang first arrived in Thailand in Udon with Vietnamese immigrants. Their other dishes like their pork sausage and their sugar cane shrimp are also one of the best I’ve tasted. The views are also spectacular: the restaurant is open-air and right next to the Mekong river. My only comment is that though they pay attention to fine detail to make each dish extra delicious, their menu doesn’t contain a great variety of items. Overall, however, It is no question the deserve their title and I definitely recommend this for everyone who gets a chance...
Read moreIn some 15 years of visiting the Safety Market in Nong Khai we have often thought of visiting the Vietnamese restaurant at one end of the Market.
This is partly because we enjoy the cheap chicken and duck with rice restaurant close to that end of the. However that's the moment that restaurant is being renovated so we went to the Vietnamese restaurant
The food was good consisting mainly of pork sausages in one form or another combined with lettuce and other leaves wrapping around a variety of uncooked vegetables such as garlic ginger and cucumber, plus sauces.

That was a lot of people serving at table but despite this we did have some difficulty attracting their attention.
A good experience but I'm not sure we will...
Read moreA famous Vietnamese restaurant in Nong Khai, located right along the Mekong and connected to the riverside walkway. The restaurant is beautiful decored, quite spacious with plenty of tables, suitable for both small and large groups. There’s an outdoor seating area with fans where you can enjoy the river view, and an indoor air-conditioned area. The staff are numerous and serve quickly; service can sometimes have small errors due to the high number of customers, but overall it’s efficient. Parking is a bit tight, but restrooms and hand-washing stations are available.
The food tastes great and looks very clean 🥗. The nam nueng is fresh, with beautifully selected green vegetables, generous side dishes, and a delicious...
