We came as we saw it was a quite interesting place to visit, the vibe is at another level, the decoration and the details, the croissant bakery it was amazing as well as the main restaurant. They count with a farm also inside with horses and chickens, they have also a garden and a lovely space full of atmosphere either outside and inside. We came for the restaurant mainly, we were a bit disappointed with the service. For a place with such level the employers don’t know how to communicate in English is such a shame, they are not coordinated and don’t know how to serve properly. We ordered two starters and one main so it means that automatically the two starters would come first and then the main afterwards, they didn’t even bothered to ask like proper waiters, they brought all at once, so when we finished the starters the main it was cold. For the main we ordered a burger which I have repeatedly requested to be very well done as I am pregnant I can’t eat raw meat. The runner who brought the burger had two plates of burgers on the hands and started looking at both of them like if he was checking but obviously didn’t had any idea and just simply left one, I had to call him back and ask twice to make sure if that was the one I requested to be well done as he didn’t understand a word the waiter that I have ordered said yes it was so I trusted his word. Then when we finished the starters and went for the burger I realise that it was raw… very disappointing for a restaurant like this specially for the above average really high prices that they have. I was expecting much more...
Read moreI recently had a terrible experience at this restaurant. After an hour and 15 minutes of waiting, our kid still hadn't received their food. Despite repeatedly asking the manager and staff for updates, we received no answers. My child was left starving for 70 minutes. When I finally told the manager to cancel our order so we could go elsewhere, he brought us a bill with a condescending smile and a cynical laugh, showing no remorse for the mistreatment and starvation of a child. When I expressed my disappointment, he merely smirked.
To make matters worse, when I asked for the management's contact information, he laughed and said there was no one to complain to—no number, no email, and implied no boss - all while maintaining his condescending smile. Additionally, neighboring tables of Thai people who arrived after us were being served the same dish earlier. The staff's refusal to even indicate when our food would be served is nothing but bad service, leading to a conclusion of discriminatory behavior. Is this how they treat all their guests, or was it because my child and I are Indian that we were subjected to such disrespect and...
Read moreThe setting is quite nice, divided between two separate buildings: a traditional somtun villa Thai side and a farang tea factory. You can order farang food in the somtun villa part, but not Thai food in the tea factory.
The food is a bit hit and miss. Some is good, others a bit mediocre. For instance the main course spaghetti meat balls had the princely sum of just one meatball!
The staff were a bit surly and this was exasperated by a very unusual (in Thai terms) 10% service charge. On top of quite pricey food, this was a bit rich. Also, whilst the menu was quite extensive, the staff seemed to derive pleasure in telling us that a lot was "mai mi" (not available). At 8pm they also took delight in telling us that the kitchen closed at 9pm so we should hurry if we wanted to order desserts (even though they were pre made cakes).
Reading other reports the poor service seems to be a common theme, so you would think the owners would take action. But maybe they just dont care?!
Certainly this restaurant needs a lot more finesse to live up to the...
