Le Pladaek — Restaurant in Pattaya City

As I walked in, (on 23rd January) and was going to ask to have a look at the menu, the Thai guy behind the bar pointed his finger at me and said " get out next door" I went next door but it was a condo rental place called Mosaik. I went back in the restaurant and I said " I don't want to eat now ( it was 4pm) but I would like to see your menu and comeback another time with Friends" He replied " we do not accept foreigners only that people" I said " why do you not accept foreigners? He replied " because I have many bookings of regular Thai people and we don't need foreigners. At that stage another staff member walked in my direction and I got a bit worried that he might push me out (or Not?) And so I left quickly. I am a middle age man, very well mannered and was well dressed. I have worked in restaurants all my life in Paris and London but never heard anything like that. I had noticed this restaurant on Facebook about 3 months ago and I had promised myself to take my thai friends there when I would be in pattaya... Welcome...

This is the-best Yum I ever had in my life!

My friend recommend this one but need to book the table in advance and pay deposit to confirm the booking.

I think this very reasonable price compare to quality and portion is very big. (I thunk the other Yum restaurant is more expensive actually.)

Recommend menu are Salmon Yum, Cockle Yum and Moo Yor Fried.

This restaurant is quite private and they quite strict for parents to take care of the children not to disturb other customers.

I think the service is okay better than I expected.

But have to understand that the owner has his own recipe, you cannot order the Yum to be less spicy or like more sweet something t like that. Overall his recipe is still the best for all the Yum that I had ever eat in Thailand.

I still want to go visit Pattaya to eat...

This place only takes reservations, you cannot do a walk-in. That being said they also prefer Thai so if you’re a foreigner you should come with a local. Their menu is entirely in Thai and they will not change how they prepare their food to your likings. The owner was polite to us eventhoughyit was our first time here. Food was tasty and fresh. I would definitely come back again. I don’t recommend anyone that expects 5 stars service or can’t handle spicy food...
