The cake and coffee are fantastic!

The owner, Pui, greeted me on her first day opening the shop in two months. Super lucky to have found the grand reopening. The mocha was aromatic, rich and perfect. And the chocolate cake was very good, almost a tort, kind of Japanese style, with high quality chocolate shavings on top.

The shop is super small for dine in. They do mostly take away to supply other local restaurants. There were two pickups while I enjoyed my coffee and cake inside. They set up a small one top table for me inside. This will be better for take away. For me, that’s even better.

Then Pui took a break to talk baking with me (I love to bake). Here is where I’m even more pleasantly surprised. Everything is homemade here using the same techniques that my grandmother used. Example: Pui’s strawberry purée is just strawberry and a bit of sugar, low heat, and stirring for over two hours until it’s perfect. I joked that I don’t have time for that, so I use pectin to thicken it. The look she gave me made me feel ashamed and made me silently apologize to my Gran for me being lazy. It was a funny interaction. She has a great sense of humor!

Bottom line: Pui takes no shortcuts. Everything is fresh and cooked the old school way.

She asked what I liked to bake, and I told her. So she offered me a cookie that many people order from her. It was so good that I ordered a dozen to pick up later. (Chocolate chip with dark chocolate 79%. Perfect combination of bitter and sweet! You can order and pick up fresh in a drive by.)

I ordered a birthday cake for my mom last minute, literally a day before her birthday and Natsakorn bakeshop did not disappoint.

I found the bakeshop through a quick google search around our hotel area. I then sent them a message for inquiry and sent a photo of the cake design I wanted and came to visit the bakeshop to discuss it as it’s only a few minutes walk from where we were staying in Pattaya.

Natsakorn, the owner and baker, was very professional and even gave suggestions. She spoke great English so there was no language barrier at all.

The cake was delivered to our hotel in perfect condition. The cake was delicious with just the right amount of sweetness to our liking. It was also decorated beautifully with real macaroons.

I highly recommend this bakeshop to anyone who’d want to have a cake for any special occasion while visiting Pattaya. My mother loved her birthday cake and that speaks a lot to the quality this...
