Frog Prince Italian-Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

Staying at The Haven & rather than going into town for dinner we decided to try a local restaurant & it was a great choice!!! Warm hospitality by the two ladies run off their feet. The food was outstanding!!! Ordered bruschetta, pork pad thai & spaghetti marina. It was so flavoursome, definitely coming back to try other dishes on their menu. Inexpensive & delicious food, what more can you ask for.

We visited Khao Lak again in November 2024. And once again FREQUENTLY dined at FP our favourite restaurant!! If you want authentic delicious inexpensive Thai cuisine this place comes highly recommended same applies to Italian cuisine. The chef has worked with Italian chefs & knows his flavours. We enjoyed the fish Penang, chicken or pork pad Thai, garlic & pepper prawns, vegetable fried rice, homemade gnocchi 👌🏼 spaghetti marinara, bruschetta pomodoro, pizza, ummm I'm trying to think what else we ordered that absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!! It is cash only which is probably why the place next door seems to be busier as there's facilities to pay via credit card but it didn't matter to us. We I was camping on the beach just up the road and I saw an Italian Thai restaurant and thought I would give it a try as I was craving some western food. After living in Thailand for the last 6 years, I was not expecting much from the Italian food, BUT to my utter surprise it was the best Italian food that I have had here in Thailand and to be honest, most other countries’ Italian food. The Thai Chef and owner has trained with Italian chefs and he certainly did learn from them! I had both Lasagna and Pizza and have to say that they were both the best that I have had for a very long time!!! Their food was so good, I stayed an extra night just because of them, and of course the beautiful nature and beach!

Although this place doesn't look as welcoming as the neighbours restaurant, I will say the food here is better. The service is equal to its neighbour and it did play authentic Thai music rather than the same Adele every night. But at the end of the day, it's the quality of the food that matters and the Frog Prince does come out on top. We tried several different dishes each time we visited and every time it tasted perfect. I do recommend the Prawn Tempura as a starter. One portion is enough for two people. The menu does seem to be more extensive than it's neighbours especially as it has a large Italian section but I'm in Thailand and all I want to eat is Thai food. I hope you enjoy the food as...
