Staying at the Devasom hotel we had breakfast every morning and dinner most nights. It was simply amazing. The food was the best food we had on our holiday and we kept going back. The food was extremely fresh, tasty and well presented. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want with an extensive range of options. Items restocked regularly and everything was very fresh. Our evening dinners were simply delicious- could not pick a favourite dish (they were all so good). A fantastic selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages also available. The staff were simply amazing. Service was always fast and nothing was an issue. They were so welcoming and took so much pride in ensuring our dinning experiences were perfect. Being guest at the hotel they got to know us and would welcome us by name each time and could even predict our drink of choice. The staff made each dinning experience special. I could not fault any of the staff. The atmosphere was also terrific. Nice and laid back, open with music playing softly in the background. Ability to sit indoors or outdoors gave lots of options and the view was gorgeous. Best experience we had was the TAKOLA journey as a special last dinner. No words can describe the entire experience. The personal chef showing and explaining each of the different 8 courses and the restaurant staff ensuring our meal was special placing us in a private booth. Was really surprised to have such a service and food in a restaurant listed in Micheline. The ambiance follows the hotel style, which is nice and cozy. Starters were really promising, but it’s all ended there… First, one of the orders has been miss-placed (shrimps instead of pork is rather a big difference), having “boiled rice” with the actual water it was boiled in is rather a dramatic decision as well. The soup from the seasonal menu totally killed it though - not sure if the fish’ was to fat/oily which didn’t go along with the spices or the fish just wasn’t fresh - but it was uneatable and caused stomach problems for next few days. During the evening no one bothered to remove the used plates from the table (which where empty or clearly indicating they have to be moved). The stuff was trying to be nice, but that’s not what makes the service remarkable. At the end, even the card terminal wasn’t working… At the end of the day - I’d avoid - there are many authentic Thai places around (both urban and high end) that deliver better Dodd...

Review for Devasom Resort Khao Lak

Our stay at Devasom Resort in Khao Lak was simply unforgettable. We stayed for 8 days in the beautiful Sky Villa, with a 17-metre private pool on the third roof floor. The views, luxury and tranquility were breathtaking.

A definite highlight of our stay was the surprise poolside BBQ, specially organised by our wonderful butler Tan. The evening was taken care of down to the last detail. Jean, the barman, made the most delicious cocktails, and the food – from fresh Andaman lobster to wagyu – was of exceptional quality.

We would like to thank our butler Tan, Nicky, the room staff and everyone at the resort for their excellent service. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our holiday truly perfect. The ceramic craft day was also a fantastic, creative experience that brought the whole family together.

Devasom Resort exceeded our expectations, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for ultimate luxury and an unforgettable experience.
