First the good things: We attended on a Monday with no reservation and did not have to wait. The service was good. Portion sizes were standard. It is close to our hotel.

Now the long list of bad things:

Temperature while eating was hot as hell! The website states indoor seating with aircon. We were seated indoors close to the kitchen. There was no wall separating indoors and there outdoors, thus no aircon, and seemed to be only 2 fans for the entire restaurant. No fans covered us at all. The sweltering heat was not helped by the restaurant refusing to provide free drinking water or ice.

VERY bland food and not remotely as described on the menu. I ordered deep fried tofu in red curry sauce. I received pan fried tofu (a completely different texture) in sweetened tomato sauce. There were no red curry sauce ingredients at all- no chilli, no galangal, no lemongrass, no garlic. It was a completely different dish, akin to tomato ketchup. My partner’s red curry was also very bland. We also ordered spicy pomelo salad, which came without any spice at all.

Restaurant does not provide fresh or dried chilli on the table for diners to add, unlike every other food venue we visited in Thailand. Upon requesting chilli from the waitress we were brought sriracha. Seriously? In a place with a 400 Baht minimum spend per head? As a remedy this is like a restaurant telling you to smother an expensive but badly cooked sirloin steak with BBQ sauce. When we insisted we were brought a dish of freshly chopped green and red chilli, and used all of it to get flavour into the dishes.

Food was the worst we have eaten in Thailand by a large margin. Price was more than double what we have paid anywhere else. In...

🌿 A Hidden Gem Serving Flavors Beyond Expectations 🐟✨

Tucked away in a peaceful green garden, surrounded by gentle koi ponds and the soft sounds of nature, this place felt like a hidden escape from the buzz of the city. The atmosphere instantly put us at ease — a true breath of fresh air.

🍽️ The Food? An Absolute Standout. We tried their classic Thai spread: a vibrant Nam Prik Kapi (shrimp paste chili dip) with a colorful array of fresh and blanched vegetables, crispy cha-om omelette, and perfectly fried fish. Paired with a bowl of bold, tangy Gaeng Som packed with fish, young vegetables, and spice — it was a full-on flavor celebration.

Every bite felt homemade yet elevated — rustic in presentation but deeply satisfying in taste. The chili dip was punchy without overpowering, the vegetables fresh and perfectly prepped, and the omelette brought that savory touch we didn’t know we needed. It was the kind of meal that exceeded every expectation and left us craving more.

📝 What Could Be Better? While the dining experience and flavors impressed us, the restroom could use a little attention — they’d run out of tissue and soap, plus the drainage wasn’t ideal. Small details, but they make a difference in the overall guest experience.

💚 Final Thoughts: We’d come back in a heartbeat — for the food, the calming scenery, and the way this place makes you forget time. A little polish on the facilities and this would easily be a near-perfect hideaway for both heart...

The food is good. But the service is not quite good, especially with the Indian parking guys. Perhaps I was riding an old vintage motorcycle from my grandpa, He seems to be discriminated against with the level of humans thru the dressing and the vehicle. He ignored me and I have to find my own parking. I ended up having to beg him to park next to his guard booth. He said he allowed me to park there even if it cause him trouble walking in and out. After finishing the sentence, he rushes into the Mercedes Benz that just comes and treats that car like a restaurant owner. Actually, the people in that Mercedes were normal customers like me. My first impression of Steve's restaurant wasn't that great in terms of services, however, I have to go on to my business dinner appointment. Overall, I won't go back to this place and will not recommend it to anyone. In this area, there are too many restaurants that will treat you better regardless of the human race. When people go out to have a nice meal at a restaurant, "Service" is something they...

Food tasted average but a little pricy given the quality of the ingredient (ex. Salmon spicy salad. It’s obvious that the salmon was frozen grade). Thai omelet was quite disappointed because of its texture that’s quite rough not so fluffy and the spring onion’s smell overpowered everything. The soft-shell crab was impressive. It’s not oily at all and it had some saltiness in it. The service here was five star. Staffs were friendly and willing to serve the customers. The atmosphere was good too. It had many interesting decorations giving a good oldies vibe. There’s parking lot in front of the restaurant so no worry. Overall it’s a good place to have a meal but budget are required

One of the best real thai food I’d ever had in the restaurant. From the famous first restaurant next to Choa pra ya river in Sam sane area , the owner converted an old thai style house in a small alley from Pradipath RD. to the second branch of Steve & Cafe. The area of the restaurant is quite big including about a parking for 10 cars. The restaurant decor make feel like sitting in a house - easy and open. Every dishes are really nice and taste real thai full balance of sweet, sour and spicy. Some dishes might be very spicy but really tasty. The owner (name Steve)claimed that they using very good ingredients without MSG and he would like to bring Real thai food to everyone.
