I recently returned from Osaka and stumbled upon Tora Tora Japanese Cuisine in the neighborhood. The reviews were mostly 5 stars, so I was excited to try it for dinner.
The atmosphere at Tora Tora was very pleasant, with great background music and a clean and fresh ambiance. However, the service could have been more attentive. I had to look for the server for a while before they noticed me. It felt like I was invisible for a moment, haha!
As it was my first time there and everything on the menu looked delicious, I asked the server for recommendations. She suggested the Fried Rice with Wagyu Beef, which is one of the restaurant's signatures. I also ordered an appetizer of slow-cooked beef with gravy sauce.
The appetizer arrived promptly and looked fantastic. The aroma was tantalizing and made my mouth watery. The beef was tender and juicy, and you could practically crush it with your tongue. I highly recommend it.
Now, the highlight of the night was the Fried Rice. Miso soup was served on the side. At first glance, the portion seemed a bit small, but it was actually quite satisfying. When I opened the dish, the aroma of butter and thinly sliced garlic exploded, enticing my senses.
The beef in the Fried Rice was cut into dice shapes, cooked medium-well, and let me tell you, the taste was out of this world. It was a marvelous dish, and each bite was a delight. The beef was perfectly cooked and well-prepared, and I commend them for that.
I wanted to give this dish a perfect 5-star rating, but after a while, I noticed it became slightly saltier. My guess is that they used salty butter. If this dish was shared among a group, the saltiness might not have been as noticeable, but since I had it all to myself, it became more apparent.
Overall, my experience at Tora Tora was fantastic, and it was one of my best fine dining experiences in Bangkok. I highly recommend it to first-time diners, as it's definitely...

Servers are quick on their feet, courteous and attentive.
They serve a gratuit house salad, which was good and refreshing. I got the gyu kakuni as appetizer. It was ok. A little dry and tough. Probably won't order again. For mains, I got the steak chahan. It came with miso soup. The steak chahan was delicious. The beef was cooked well, although the rice was a little on the sweet side. It took quite a lot of togarashi to offset the sweetness. The garlic chips also helped balance the sweetness.
Despite the minor cons, it was an enjoyable meal. I will definitely come back to try other items...
Read moreWe booked a table for 3 at 1 PM and arrived right on time, only to be told we’d have to wait another 30 minutes. This made absolutely no sense since we weren’t late. It was a clear sign of poor management. To make matters worse, the staff member with reddish-brown hair had an incredibly bad attitude. Her tone and behavior made it obvious she didn’t want to be there. If she doesn’t enjoy her job, maybe she shouldn’t be working in customer service. This kind of attitude not only damages the restaurant’s reputation but also creates a negative experience for customers. Very...
