We had booked a table for five persons for they're buffet, when we arrived we had only 4 chairs. I had to stand for no less than 15 minutes trying to get a hold of a waiter. After 15 minutes I had to walk up to one of them and ask to get a chair. After I politely asked for one, it still took 5 minutes before they brought me a chair. We where not provided with cutlery enough for the table so we had to wait a long time for a waiter to bring us this.
About 30 minutes after we arrived we where able to order something to drink.
When they put the food on the counter so people could help themselves, a lot of people RUSHED towards the counter to get food. We did not rush because it was a buffet and there would be food for everyone. When we finally got to the front of the line they where out of bread and tzatziki and they did not refill either of it.
We had one piece of meat some potatoes and some salat and went to our table to eat. When we went for round two they where out of meat and potatoes as well. So there was only parts of the salad left. After about 15 - 20 minutes they started to serve pizza instead. But people where hoarding slices to be sure to save they're parts. Which ended up with those did not use they're elbows did not get any pizza either.
In all of this mess we where not provided anything to drink even though we had been out for a while.
After a while they brought the dessert, but they only had enough bowls to serve about half the customers. After about 15 minutes they brought out more bowls so the rest of the customers at the restaurant could get dessert. But at that time it was almost all gone.
The owner where walking around the tables, smiling and talking to the customers. When he got to our table and asked if we where full and satisfied I anwered "almost". Then he got really upset and walked away with an unpleasant look on his face. He sat down with a friend to have a cigarette and a drink instead of fixing any of this mess.
I have only been here once and it was a disaster. Meat was not so tasty and very chewy.
Other than all this, beer was no joke more than double the price then all other restaurants in the aera and the one scoop of potatoes I got was good tasting.
Would not reccomend anyone to ever go there. If anything it was a good story for friends and relatives when it comes to ridiculous restaurants we...
Read moreBest pizza in Cha Am and we’ve tried most places selling pizza in and near Cha Am over the last decade. Just off a long, dark alley parallel to the beach road, this restaurant can be hard to find but opens into a charming garden with tables and chairs.
We’re only here in January each year and some years find ourselves a little puzzled about the rest of the food because dishes that used to be superb - like the tomato pasta (so “tomatoey” and garlicky) and the fish soup with the marvellous rouille and even the lovely small mixed salad - are now quite good. Quite a comedown from superb?
One year the lasagne was great, the next it had far too much cheese, this year it’s good but not great. Also this year, the escalope was bland and the stroganoff had tough meat and an odd, sour sauce rather than the expected creaminess.
Is most of the cooking now being done by assistants? If so, they are a long way from the kind of talent chef Franck clearly has. It’s still as popular as ever, though; don’t bother to turn up on Saturdays without a...
Read moreWent with gf last night and was disappointed with food, I picked this place based on reviews here also I am not fussy. Ordered cod fish with dill sauce and potato's. Fish basically wasn't best like hard bits gummy, dunno why may b freezing issue or old stuff. My gf had shrimp fried rice, she is Thai, so first thing she tried it she said it's very sweet, I tried it and yeah they put a lot of sugar of something she squeezed half lime 🍋🟩 over it and still was sweet, and shrimps 🦐 were very tiny, so over all felt like money down the toilet walked out hungry. Hopefully it was one off as most reviews are positive, this one is not to bash place but...
