Right on a gorgeous, sandy beach, we’ve visited most Januaries for the last 15 years as we stay nearby. We’ve learned they are most reliable at the weekend. Menu in Thai and English, very little spoken English.
The papa used to be a fisherman (never wore a shirt unless the temperature was below 30C) and the grown up grandchildren are now front of house. Signage only in Thai but one large sign at the entrance has a delightfully childlike painting of a blue and white boat in a corner, surrounded by various seafood. The large open air restaurant is at the far end of a compound with parking; various family homes are studded around the edges.
Their tom yam goong is superlative: it has sometimes been equalled (currently also great at the Dusit towards Hua Hin but half the portion for a higher price) but never bettered. You can ask for little chilli (ped nit noy) or medium chilli (ped noi) but don’t expect it to be bland.
