This is a bar that looks like a restaurant. Do not come here to eat food. The view is great and can be seen from any number of other locations. Our group of 13 arrived at 6.30pm. Half of us speak Thai fluently, so what follows was not linguistic confusion. We decided to enjoy the aircon room on the river. They cleared the table and took our order just before 7. One waiter was extremely clueless. On one menu an item was blacked out and on another menu it was there. After placing an order, the waitress didn’t think to let us know that it wasn’t an option- so she didn’t even place any order for that person at all. Around 7.40 nine of the plates arrived and we were told they were out of fish and chips for 2 of the 4 orders. As it turns out this was incorrect. The waitress didn’t realized they were short only 1 order as she had already served 1. Anyway 2 of us ordered other items. At 8pm we were informed they were all out of BBQ Ribs and also had no more pepper steak. So, 2 of our group had to order something else. At 8:30 the fried chicken arrived but it was brought to the wrong end of the table. Friends let me nibble on their portions between 7:30-8:40, so that by the time I got my chicken at 8:40 I was full and only had a couple of pieces. The chicken wasn’t as good as the local roadside hawkers. Sampling everyone elses meals meant I had a good idea how everything tasted. The spaghetti sauce was brown sugar water. The fried fish was tiny slivers of fish surrounded by a massive layer of beautiful looking greasy bread crumbs. The Tom Kha was too spicy for our Thai guests. The pepper steak was delicious (because of the sauce) even though it was very very fatty and tough. At 8:45 (five minutes after I got my meal and 2 hours and 15 minutes after our arrival at the restaurant.) we paid our bill and left hoping to...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant and a great coffee shop. The service was friendly & helpful, they had a guy playing music, the atmosphere in general was nice as well as the view over the river. We had some thai food, a steak and a dessert and everything was exceptionally good and served nicely (even for european standards) and I cannot remember where I ever ate better french fries than here. I also had a cold matcha tea with strawberries and it was just the best cold matcha tea I ever had. Maybe when the restaurant is full, the quality of the food is lower. I don't have another explanations for some bad reviews here. When we came, they did not have so many customers but everything was exceptionally good!!! I can only recommend to go there if you are in the area - even the match tea alone is worth a visit...
P.S: I waited too long to make the picture of the matcha tea. When I got it, it had that nice separation of green, white and red as shown in...
Read moreI wanted to like this place as the ambience riverside location was great. Nice band playing quietly in the jungle like environment helps as well. Sadly I was not impressed. We had three main meals and drinks for just under 1,000 baht. My drink took about 30 minutes to arrive with the excuse that it was busy. I had the fish and chips and this turned out pretty poor. Chips were cold, fish was heavily breaded and kind of grey coloured flesh was tasteless. My friends steak looked tough as shoe leather and he seemed to struggle with chewing it but he swore black and blue it was the best steak he had ever eaten. Thai dishes maybe a lot better at this spot but we didn't try. Staff were checking their phones and...
