This is definitely a pretty hotel, but I can't say it's a comfortable hotel.
At first, I was impressed with the pretty swimming pool and sea view. However, the room was not assigned for more than 30 minutes after check-in, and after that, I was able to go up to the room by requesting more than three times. There was no elevator, so I had to move a large carrier hard.
The room with cute interior accessories is definitely pretty. However, it is not comfortable to stay more than one night. The shower booth consists of only curtains on both sides, making it easy to leak water to the floor, and the bathtub next to the bed is also pretty, but the water is not hot enough to take a bath.
It's very embarrassing and inconvenient for guests because they don't even have a phone in the room, perhaps as part of a minimalist.
There is no separate dressing table, so you have to use a small console on the minibar together, and the open hanger is also pretty, but it looks messy when you hang clothes. Curtain is on the whole glass wall, but it's too hot, and it seems unnecessary interior design.
In addition, you have to pass through the main gate every time you leave the hotel and come in, and there is nobody to open it so you have to call the lobby every time and ask to open the door.
The worst thing is that music plays nonstop every night after midnight on the pool bar, and I can't sleep.
However, the swimming pool in front of the beach is very pretty. No matter where you look, everywhere is a photo spot. However, it is very ironic that even guests can use it only from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the weekend.
To use a sunbed or table in the pool, you have to pay more than 1,000 baht per person at the restaurant. But it's hard for me to spend 1000 baht because I don't drink a lot. This is also uncomfortable as a guest.
It's a shame that they could get more customers if they reduced the minimum price for guests at least. This is because despite the end of the year, the table was quite empty.
Some of the receptionists are fluent in English, but the staff who answer the phone cannot communicate smoothly. Also, the staff may seem friendly, but they are not willing to solve the problem
The hotel is more focused on the management of the pool bar(Sundance Dayclub) than on consideration for guests. Hospitality, the most important factor of a hotel seems less important.
In conclusion, it is a great place to take pretty pictures, so it might be suitable for young MZ couples, friends, or people who want to enjoy music and parties. I recommend you to reconsider to stay here if you have children, plan to come with your parents, or look for a...
Read moreSundance Day Club, Hua Hin: Almost Greece. It’s a mixed bag at Sundance - one of the head turning stunners newly planted at the far end of the quiet Hua Hin Stretch. It’s soft opening after all. Let’s start with the merits. It’s concrete heaven for a concrete fan like myself. The build is mighty, stoic and absolutely pleasing to the eyes. Styling is incredible, classy and the plantscaping is spot on. From the blinding gold of the lobby, to the generous number of mirrors for the IG narcissists, to the monochrome touches, to the day club that pays homage to the sea with a dazzling blue pool. The Manager was such a lovely lady and she worked hard as we could see.
Brunch is coiffed. The theme of clean minimalism extends to brunch. Breakfast room isn’t at the restaurants. It’s tucked away in a quiet cafe space. Not for the masses, God forbid. It’s a small ala carte menu but there’s a small petit dejeneur buffet section for juices, salads, fruits. Jams are handmade and honestly the star of the show. Items should rotate as it became boring on day 2. By day 3 and 4, we were done with the exact items. Quiet class, elegance and aesthetics run thick here.
This day club is open to the public and charges an arm and leg. One end at the restaurant is for guests and the other is for paying patrons. Weekdays are free for hotel guests, till 4.30 PM. There are also minimum spends here and there and I got a headache working out all the rules. Deference is for paying day club guests, not hotel guests. You’re made to feel like a second rate citizen as a hotel guest. We don’t know where to sit to watch the sunset without paying. We even had a staff run after us to stop us from going to the day club without booking. It was stressful. There’s the gorgeous Sun Lounge, a bronze glasshouse that overlooks the sea and that almighty inviting pool. Some of the downers are food and drinks are exorbitantly priced. It’s a money pit in the room - you pay for bath bombs and extra water. There’s no wardrobe. AC sounds like a vacuum gone rogue. The design considerations are shoddy - insufficient electrical sockets. Also, the surrounds is quiet - far from town, far from conveniences such as laundry, stores, etc. The one spa across shutters at 4 PM. If you can ignore all the greek tragedy flaws, it’s a stunning spot. Oh, did I mention you’ll be busy rolling your eyes at the IG annoying gnats everywhere?...
