Decoration: this bar is very beautiful, it surprises me when I first stepped into this place. It makes everyone who were walking on the beach have to stop to look at it.
Location: this place is front of the beach and it’s over 6km away from Aow Yai area.
Food: so many options in their menu, Thai food is good too.
Service: terrible! We are 2 people and came to visit here in early noon. After spent few hours here, we decided to stay here longer to enjoy the sunset because so far both of us really liked this bar. We got some drink here first, then walked along the beach and came back to have more drink and food. We picked the seat outdoor and very close to the beach because both of us like the sun and wanted to tan the skin. Also because we decided to stay here for sunset, that’s why this bar is very good for that too. Everything was good until we went down to the beach to swim and play frisbee, definitely we left belongings at our seat. From the beach we can see our place in the bar, while we were playing frisbee we saw a group of local tourists come to our seat. We thought they just come over to have a look of the view and leave but nope! They walked around and put their stuffs in our seat although they saw our belongings were still there. Because our seat is near the bar, that’s why I thought maybe it’s ok because the staff there knew that seat was not available for new guests. And yes, a staff came to our seat and arranged for that group sit there too! Really? Then I walked up to our seat with the hope to show them that we are still staying here but it seemed I was invisible. The staff saw me but still were talking and laughing with that group, no one asked me if we still stay or leave. It seemed we must stayed in same table with others no matter if we agree or not and this is really pissed me off! Bad customer service and very impolite Thai tourists. My bf was standing on the beach to look at me, I told him that I don’t like to stay here anymore and don’t like to sit on same table with others like that. Then I collected our stuffs and left in very upset, that staff heard and saw me but it seemed very normal for her.
Thank you and we will never...
Read moreTo call it The Hippy Bar is a misconception. It's really Jimmy and Cowboys bar who built and run it. I'd call it an amazing work of real art! It's simply stunning in it's simple and yet incredibly intricate tree house construction. With mostly rope holding it together, it's a maze of walkways and chill out spots, some open and some covered, that all have a rustic charm I have only ever experienced at somewhere like The Glade at Glastonbury Festival. The work that has gone into this place is simply phenomenal. The food is powerful and authentic Thai and the drinks are excellent. Go there just to walk about and gawp or even better, skin up a large Bifta, grab a Melon Brando (that's a watermelon smoothie topped of with 3 fingers of SangSong rum) and loose yourself in an afternoon of total bliss . As a 63 year old bloke who has been about a bit, trust me when I say, this is as good as a beach bar...
Read moreThe location is just wonderful and the prices are totally fair. Based on the older comments I thought it would be more expensive. Cocktails are 20 baht more expensive to other places, that’s nothing to note.
Why 3 stars? We thought it would be easy to get drinks and food, but that’s where it got a little bit complicated. First things first, you need to get drinks and food from different locations, based on the infrastructure and different levels you need to put the drinks in your backpack and climb to your location. At least you can order food and a waitress will bring it to your place. We’re in Thailand for two weeks already and it’s the first dish which I really didn’t liked. Then I thought a Mango Sticky Rice could satisfy me, but already at 6pm there is no more Sticky Rice.
This place is so wonderful and magical, but the food really...
