Le Panier Gourmand — Restaurant in Rawai

I walked past Le Panier Gourmand while waiting for my visa agent to open. I saw the reviews and went back later to try the food.

I was impressed! I had an amazing lunch of filet of beef, frits and green beans with garlic. The beef was accompanied by a tasty peppercorn sauce.

The ingredients used were excellent. The chef cooked my steak medium and it was perfect. I loved the frits. The meal was a treat to enjoy. This was decent food, superbly cooked.

The desert options looked amazing but I was too full to try this time. There is also a deli counter.

Unplanned visit to this restaurant today, but I am so glad we stopped by! We arrived early for lunch and as we sat, the restaurant began to fill up with....French people! Haha, that's when you know it's going to be good.

My beef cheek special was unbelievably delicious, and I had enough to take leftovers home. My order came with some fresh baguette. We also ordered fish and chips, solid and delicious with the outstanding housemade tartar sauce.

We will be definitely coming back and trying...

Rare 5* from me. This is a hidden gem. Authentically French: A proper bistro. Has daily specials (I'll be back for the lamb!)

Just high quality, well prepared, fresh products. Friendly staff and chef/owner. Really top notch. Extra points for not being at all hipster - just a focus on good product - and pricing is very reasonable.
