La Capanna mae phim beach — Restaurant in Rayong Province

This one was difficult to review.

I went there 3 years ago, and I tried it again to compare.

In all fairness, not a lot changed. The food is good, no complaint here it's tasty and made with attention. Also be aware that the size are huge, and should be reduced IMO to cut on the waste and reduce the price or propose 2 sizes maybe.

We waited about 40+ min with only 2 tables in the restaurant. 3 years ago we waited about the same time, so definitely something to improve, maybe during preparations before the opening - again with smaller portions this could speed up the process.

The atmosphere is cold. Yes it is just in front of the beach and it's very difficult to have something not corroded after weeks, but it needs a make over. The chairs should be the priority because waiting 40min on those was painful.

Last point, the service. This place will never make it if it's full. I can see staff not communicating, for example waitress took our order and then sat alone letting the chef serves the drinks or the dishes, a table stayed with old plates after the guests left for 30min before the chef cleaned it again, a bit confused here. Could have been a bad day but definitely to improve.

Overall, this place has good products with quality, but be ready for waiting time and cold atmosphere. I may retry in another 3...

One of the best restaurants in mae Phim , the food is excellent ! Great variety of Italien food, thai cuisine and even with a twist of vietnamese springrolls for an example. Following the very high ratings I came here enthusiastically and left disillusioned.
