It was tough dinner experience. Since I have some good experience from Andaman kitchen (we plans to visit tomorrow so will review after I check out), I decided to visit here for our early family dinner. Long story short, it was not a good choice for my family dinner.
Here are the things:
Pros: Good quality of food! Ease of access from the room, Kind staffs
Cons: Long waiting time We were able to get a burger only 3540 minutes after I ordered, and we were able to get all other foods 1 hour after we sit. I tried to understand that they might be busy with prep, but there were only 23 tables including us. They didn’t give us any notice about potential delays before and during the waiting time, even never explained anything at all.
Non kids friendly First impression was not bad. They prepared some crayon and paper to draw, but that’s it. We were able to get a high chair when we requested after the burger came out, but the chair was in the rain and my daughter’s cloth was soaked. Kids plate was plastic, but glass water cup and heavy silverware were definitely not suitable for children.
Kind but unprofessional staffs Honestly, I am still not sure how I can explain this. Staffs are nice and kind, but not much friendly. As I mentioned before, especially, they really doesn’t care about the guest. Server didn’t lead us to the table, didn’t give us a menu until we requested, didn’t explain what’s going on with our order, never asked about taste of food… now I don’t believe what was going on there. When I asked the check, they also put the survey card about their restaurant. But, the staffs were waiting beside me! Okay, it seems I might be a unwelcome guest, but they were nice to us when I was able to talk with them…. this makes confusing me. Again, they might be a busy with the preparation, but they should have a break time before they get a customer.
Maybe… we’d better to order for to-go… or in-room dining order… it might be an option, but don’t want to visit in-person again during the rest of our stay.
Tips 1. Water is not free and too expensive (210 baht). I recommend to order water watermelon juice (90baht) or other drinks. Chang (beer) cold brew refers a bottle of beer and glass. One of my Germany friend like this, but my recommendation is Chang...
Read moreWhat a delightful dining experience at Big Fish Restaurant in Phuket! From the moment we stepped in, we were treated to exceptional hospitality and mouthwatering cuisine.
The bread served on the house was a pleasant surprise – perfectly moist and a great start to our meal. The burrata salad was an absolute delight, bursting with freshness and flavor. The spaghetti arrabbiata pasta was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice to tantalize the taste buds.
To complement our meal, we enjoyed a fine selection of wine that paired beautifully with our dishes. And let's not forget the indulgent mango & chocolate gelato for dessert – a heavenly finish to an already outstanding meal.
The attention to detail in both service and food quality truly sets Big Fish apart. We left feeling thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend to anyone...
Read moreThe restaurant and bar share the exact same menu since the food is prepared in the restaurant’s kitchen. So it is up to you which ambience you prefer. For a light meal and drinks, the bar may be the better option. For dinner, I would pick the restaurant where you can gaze across to the lights at Nai Yang Town. Service is the same between the two.
The menu is diverse to cater to the different palates of the resort guests, but I think it could use some editing. The salmon steak was fantastic. The seafood pasta I had the following night was unfortunately very mediocre, as was its presentation. It was also very similar to the vongole option, so they could have done away with one of them or made it a marinara. Overall the prices were reasonable. Personally, I would avoid the burgers, pizza and...
