If you're looking for a truly delightful beachside dining experience in Phuket, look no further than the charming Food Shack. Nestled right on the shoreline, this little restaurant is run by a warm and welcoming husband-and-wife team. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with a sense of authenticity and hospitality that sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary adventure.

The first thing that strikes you about Food Shack is its idyllic location. With the soothing sound of waves crashing and the gentle sea breeze, you can't help but feel at ease. The restaurant's intimate and relaxed atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or a laid-back lunch with friends.

But let's talk about the real star of the show – the food! The menu at Food Shack is a carefully crafted selection of local and international dishes, all prepared with love and attention to detail. Whether you're a seafood lover or prefer vegetarian options, there is something for everyone here. The flavors are vibrant, and the ingredients are clearly fresh, making every bite a burst of taste.

One of the standout dishes that you absolutely must try is their signature seafood platter. Piled high with succulent prawns, perfectly grilled fish, and mouthwatering squid, it's a true seafood lover's dream come true. The accompanying sauces and sides complement the main course brilliantly, enhancing the overall dining experience.

For those with a preference for land-based fare, the Food Shack's meat and vegetarian dishes are equally delightful. The tender grilled meats and the aromatic herb-infused vegetarian options showcase the chef's expertise in crafting dishes that satisfy every palate.

In addition to the delectable food, the drink selection is equally impressive. The bar serves a variety of refreshing cocktails and mocktails, as well as a well-curated wine list. Whether you want to enjoy a classic mojito or sip on a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc as you watch the sunset, Food Shack has got you covered.

What truly sets Food Shack apart is the genuine care and attention provided by the owners. Their passion for their craft is evident in every aspect of the restaurant, from the friendly and efficient service to the immaculate presentation of the dishes. They take the time to chat with each guest, making you feel like a valued friend rather than just another customer.

In conclusion, Food Shack in Phuket is a hidden gem that deserves every bit of praise it receives. With its idyllic beachfront setting, delectable food, and warm hospitality, it undoubtedly earns a well-deserved five stars. Whether you're a tourist exploring Phuket or a local looking for a special dining experience, Food Shack is an absolute must-visit. So, do yourself a favor and head down to this fantastic little beach restaurant – your taste buds...

Excellent alternative to the Marriott Hotel Food. Just a few minutes down the beach this very unassuming Food Shack is an excellent option for dinner, a snack or even just a cold beer on the beach.

So far we have eaten there twice and I guess we will be there again before we depart. There is some western food options but a rule of thumb we follow when going to a place like this is eat local… so the Thai Food is excellent. In fact, the Pineapple Friend Rice with Chicken is some of the best we have ever had in the 3 years living in Thailand. The other things we have tried we also excellent and the quality of the chicken and shrimp was top notch. We have also tried… Stir fried Morning Glories, Chicken and Holy Basil, Chicken and Cashew, Chicken Wings, Fried Shrimp… and the french fries…

The owners are wonderful, with excellent English. Definitely stop by… not only is the food excellent… it is also a fraction of the cost of the Marriott dining and who doesn’t love sitting on the beach listening to the waves while enjoying an...

I suggest anyone wanting to come here please come in from Marriot hotel, go down to the beachfront and walk to your right. Those on the other end (The Slate/Sea Turtle) If youre planning to follow google maps walking path directions, which shows some walking on the beach, then wade across the waters which is up to waist deep if youre short. I find it quite unsafe as the waves were strong during the afternoon. Lots of debris floating as well, not very pleasant I would say. Anyway I find the food taste average. Please dont order the green curry. It was so watery and lack of flavour. Pineapple rice was good. Oyster kale & fried prawn was meh. I saw a couple ordered fried sea bass. Maybe I ordered the wrong choice of food. The surroundings were peaceful. Just abit worried about the sanitation in the area. I wouldnt come...

Thai food at its best. We had Tom-Ka-Gai and Tom-Yam-Goong and they were both delicious with fresh ingredients and perfect, balanced seasoning. The Som-Tam was fresh, crunchy and at the exact level of spice we asked for. The Sea Bass was precisely fried in fresh oil and beautifully served with fried rice nested in half of a fresh pineapple. For the Red Curry Chicken we asked for a twist with chunks of pineapple which turned out to be a delicious, tailored dish. On top of all that you get a warm hospitality and attentive service by Kiaw, the chef’s wife, who gave the restaurant its name. At a first glance you can’t imagine this level of food but once you start eating you know they nailed it. When you get the check you know you also nailed it. Twice. Highly recommended.
