Krua Praya — Restaurant in Si Sunthon

The food was excellent! I made a reservation for 5 people via google map chat and it worked well. Turns out that a reservation was not necessary as the restaurant was pretty much empty when we went for dinner. There were 2 people sitting at another table in the garden but we were seated inside so we didn't see them. It was a little odd eating in an empty restaurant but the food was great so that's all that matters right?

We tried a bit of everything...soup with coconut milk, pad thai omelette, basil chicken, stir fried pork, curry, pineapple fried rice, etc.

We had a slight communication issue trying to explain the difference between flat water and water with gas (carbonated water) but some pictures and google translate, etc. seemed to help. We ordered carbonated water first but the kids wanted flat water so when we ordered flat water, they gave us more carbonated water. But not a big deal.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a nice meal in Phuket.

Such a great find. It’s a bit hidden away but very much worth the trip. We ordered the pork balls, a pineapple curry with chicken (for a member of our party who wanted a mild curry and they obliged), a pork sour curry, the dry red curry pork and the stir fried malindjo with egg. All of it was excellent, the pork meat was very tender, but the malindjo was the star dish, so good I asked for one to go. We ordered a large rice and it was very generous, enough for four at least. I really wanted to try desert so we for two to go. The taro balls in coconut was delicious and the snake fruit also lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has clean toilets. Chanced upon this place thanks to Google sharing what's new around and we live nearby And had no clue this place existed since it's located inside some inconspicuous streets near the Chinese temple. Loved the ambience, the friendly family thst owned it and the food was delicious. Pricing is ok if you're a foreigner but definitely higher than you average Thai restaurant, but it's worth it and this place will be visited several times by us for sure. Food taste was authentic, their homemade ice cream was yum and the home concocted ginger ale was the perfect dose for a sore throat. You will not be disappointed.
