Subject: Complaint Regarding Rude and Unprofessional Staff at Cheevit Cheva Hatyai
Dear Cheevit Cheva Hatyai Management,
I would like to express my deep disappointment regarding the unpleasant experience my family and I had during our recent visit to your café.
We came as a group of 10 adults and 6 children to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We understood that accommodating a large group can be challenging, and when informed that there were no tables large enough for all of us, we politely agreed to sit separately just to enjoy some desserts and have a simple candle-blowing moment.
However, the way your staff handled the situation was extremely rude and unprofessional. The staff member who took my order was visibly annoyed, rolled his eyes at me, and made no effort to be courteous. It was very obvious and made us feel extremely unwelcome. Despite our effort to cooperate and not cause inconvenience, your team continued to respond rudely and dismissively.
When I approached the counter to order cakes, I was questioned in an unnecessarily complicated and condescending manner, being asked again how many people were at the table — even though I had already explained that we were sitting separately. It felt like your staff were more interested in being difficult than offering any form of hospitality.
No apology was offered for the poor service until my husband specifically requested to speak to a manager — only then did we receive a forced apology. This is unacceptable and far from the standard of service expected at a well-known establishment like Cheevit Cheva.
We had chosen your café in good faith to celebrate a special moment with our loved ones, but the rudeness of your staff left us with a negative impression. I sincerely hope you will take this feedback seriously, provide proper training to your team, and ensure future guests are treated with respect and basic courtesy.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding how this will be...
Read moreThis place got a lot of review for being a good place for shaved ice and desserts so we went and try.
Location: a bit far out of downtown but we went because it was recommended by influencers and some people gave it a good review.
Service: When we reached the location, we needed to wait for seats and then it started to rain because it was the monsoon season so we needed to take shade in the premises to avoid getting wet. The staff had no understanding and empathy that it was raining and wanted us to stand outside in the rain??? I explained it was raining outside what do you want us to do? And there was no training for all the staff on how to handle customer in this type of situation situation. You have chaos in the premises as the number of people increase. They were rude, impolite and no apologies was offered for the inconvenienced. We waited and all the time there was no courtesy or customer service. The seats and tables are nothing special so i don’t know why some people say the environment is great and decorations are great. They are just normal and i have seen better.
Food: The food was supposed to be good but it was just average. We had better food in After You in Central Festival and their Service was perfect, the ambiance is great and the food were all superb. Forget about this place. They say good for photography and as a photographer, only the front door because of the logo…everything else is just normal. Nothing special about this place. Don’t go. In Hatyai, this is the ONLY place that the staff are very rude and obnoxious. They are not reflective of the Thai people and culture. Better go to Central Festival AFTER YOU for the same food which tastes 1000% better and the service is 2000% better. Don’t waste your time...
Read morethe place was nice ! But service sucks big time!! We met a staff that was super rude! We had a group of 10 so we sat around 4 small round table (those small coffee table type of round table) but he chased us off the last table and took it away saying we can only have 3 round tables. He says he need to give the table to other customers. Ok fine.
While waiting for our food, we saw a bigger table setting that was vacated by a smaller group, so we want to switch over. The same staff refuse to let us have the table and says he need to keep it for big group. We have 10, the last occupier was lesser people than us and nobody was outside waiting for table. Fine.
When he was serving our order and we pointed out to the person that ordered the item he was serving, he just threw the food on the table with a plonk from wherever he was standing and stomp off. What the???
3/4 if the time, both the single round table and the bigger table setting was left empty. After which the bigger table was assigned to a group of 8.
Don’t go. Food and beverage was fine but not worth patronizing and get shown tantrums by temperamental staff. My travel mate also shared that while ordering he also converse loudly and show his unhappiness when they picked up a menu placed at the counter to see what they want to order.. HELLO! There is only 2 menu at the counter, and it was place there for people to see, what’s wrong with us picking it up to see it more clearly??
There are many other nice cafes that have popped up around Hat Yai....
