บ้านไทย สเต็กเฮ้าส์ — Restaurant in Sukhothai Province

We are from Germany and are in Sukkothai for a few days of sightseeing. Our accommodation is not far from this place, so we googled for a restaurant nearby and were enchanted by the appealing pictures on Google.

When we got there, we were the only guests and thought the restaurant was closed, but a young man led us straight to the chef, who gave us a very friendly welcome and asked us what we wanted. We were told to bring time, which we had. Good things take time. And we were not disappointed.

The friendly chef is a master who knows his craft. Such tender meat, crunchy vegetables, delicious spices and the garlic is the best I've ever seen and eaten. Appetisingly presented.

They don’t do steak or homestay anymore. The owner renovate the place into a Japanese style Yakiniku and the private bungalow will turn into a day time matcha cafe.

Tonight we have the chargrilled barbecue pork set including 5 plates of pork belly, 3 squid and 1 basket of vegetables. This pork set is ฿990. Large portion. Nice...

Grandios leckeres Essen! Vorab - wie bereits beschrieben wirkte der Laden auch bei unserer Ankunft wie geschlossen. Kein Licht, keine Gäste, aber irgendwoher kam laut Musik. Wir fanden den Koch, zeigten ihm das Foto vom Essen und er zeigt uns dann das Fleisch :) Er sieht ein wenig aus wie eine jüngere Version von Jacky Chan und ist sehr sympathisch. Sein Englisch ist auch ganz passabel. Eine Karte gibt es nicht (glaube ich) und das Bier musste er vom nahegelegenen 7 Eleven holen. Da wir uns vorher nicht angekündigt hatten, dauerte das Essen eine Stunde (was er auch vorher erwähnte). Das Steak war ausgesprochen lecker, zart und super zubereitet. Und die Knoblauchzähen in Öl waren einfach ein Traum. Preislich liegt er Laden natürlich deutlich über den normalen Preisen dort - wir zahlten pro Portion 1300 Bath. Aber das Geld war es auf...
