Pizza Tao Fuun — Restaurant in Sukhothai Province

Perhaps the best Western food in the area, best pizza for sure, large wood fired oven, moderately broad menu, the usual suspects, salmon, burgers, spaghetti, The restaurant area is not small, some covered tables, some not ; Amiable engineer lady owner manager, she said people come from far and wide for her pizza, that pizza is heavily slanted to olive oil, they open at 10am,and she said sometimes there are lines of customers; One of the things that impressed me was the great staff, very efficient; Owner manager speaks excellent English but the rest of the staff not so much, mostly Thai customers, the outside cafe front area has running water theme; Parking here is terrible, park further away and walk, good western bathrooms The rest is also known as pizza...

It is difficult to find a good pizza outside Bangkok and Phuket. This is the best one i got in Northern Thailand. The pizzaiola (yes, a thai woman!) mastered the preparation of the pizza base professionally. The pizza dough was good, enough quality cheese, also salame (pepperoni in american.... bah!) was surprisingly acceptable. Only deviation from standard was the tomato sauce: as already mentioned by another fellow italian in a previous review, it is sweet. But wasn't that bad overall. Expensive as everywhere in Thailand (350 baht average). I guess the not so positive reviews depend on how many customers are there (i was the only one) and from pizzaiolo/a on duty. Very nice and clean place to enjoy more western food, which was made with care.

The pizza dough is made from scratch in a real pizza oven with fresh ingredients. The dough could use a pinch of salt more to my likings, however you can always add it as well.

The employees were attentive and the setting is relaxed.

The only thing I found surprising and uncomfortable, was the bill. 945 Baht for a large pizza. 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle (660ml) of Chang beer is overpriced.

I take the blame fully on myself, not to have taken more attention to the price on the menu card when ordering. Nevertheless, I believe this is really on the edge of taking advantage of tourists.

So, overall good pizza with a high price tag to it....
