Family Thai Food — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

0 stars! Ordered a few dishes and all 3 were tasteless. Khao Soi the worst I have ever had, no flavour just pure coconut milk don’t be fooled by the pictures on the menu and walls. Service was dreadful, waited 10 minutes to get served didn’t finish our food but stayed to finish our drinks and table wasn’t cleared. Other tables next to us had their food sat around for ages too. I asked the younger lady for the bill numerous times and waited over half hour for this. We give up and went to the desk. I would not recommend this place and unsure how it’s rated highly. The best and friendliest restaurant/hostel we have visited in Thailand so far! The family who owns the restaurant are extremely nice and welcoming. We loved the food - especially the smoothies and other drinks. They served some of the tastiest Pad Thai and everything is very low priced.

We didn’t know they’re also a hostel. Coco hostel (next door) messed up our booking so we stayed here for 1 night instead. Rooms were new and clean. Definitely the best and nicest hostel we’ve been to so far! Soft mattresses and duvets and clean bathrooms/showers. Cant recommend this place enough. Would rather stay here than coco hostel!! Best restaurant in Khao Sok! Delicious food, family run, and just so welcoming. I had a crispy noodle soup, which was so good! I actually got stuck in before taking this photo.

If you want somewhere to stay in Khao Sok, I also recommend the hostel attached to the restaurant, too! So clean, well maintained, and social! I booked tours through them too, which were a really good price (recommend the bamboo rafting and Thai Pancake tour!)
