Two tourist guys were smoking at the table next to me, so I asked a senior staff member about it.
Me: Why are those people smoking in the restaurant? It stinks. Senior staff: If the customers smoke, we can't do anything. Me: But it's illegal to let them. Senior staff: Don’t be too serious when you travel. It’s not fun if you take things too seriously.
Then she just walked away.
Is this the answer staff should say? Is this the kind of business you should support?
Smoking in bars and restaurants is illegal in Thailand, whether indoors with ac or in open-air spaces. It’s also illegal for a restaurant to allow customers to smoke without a designated smoking area that is completely separate from the non-smoking section.
In 2025, educated people understand the dangers of secondhand smoke. But more and more, disrespectful people—who wouldn’t behave this way in their own countries—come to Thailand and act disrespecfully. Their service is with a smile and politeness that makes you feel welcome and relaxed
The presentation is so beautiful, with flowers and hearts made from leaves with every dish

The atmosphere is really nice, with plants covering the whole area, you really feel like you're still in a botanical garden while enjoying your meal
I would highly recommend Thai Herb Restaurant to anyone looking for somewhere to relax!

Normally we’re very easily pleased and we never complain but this just wasn’t good. Especially since you pay more, since most curries are...
