Jaja's Vegan — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Went on a Friday evening. No staff speak English aside from the mother who is too busy in the kitchen. Had a screaming kid literally in our faces the whole time. Hands all over us, not appropriate and frankly made me want to leave, which we should of done as anywhere else would have been an evening better spent. Genuinely annoyed I wasted an evening of my two weeks in Koh phangan on this place. Food was pretty awful to say the least. As a vegan of 15 years I feel can say that. They forgot half my order. We ordered green curry fried rice and a red curry with tofu. What we received was neither of these. Just a plate of steamed rice and some tofu in a spicy red paste with little to no flavour. The green fried rice had an awful aroma and the mushrooms were practically raw. Don’t listen to the 5 star reviews. If you are vegan or vegetarian, avoid and try the many other options on the island such as eatco, deli Devi, karma cafe, mama Kop and so forth. This is one of the best vegan restaurants in the world, and it is run by the sweetest family ever. Wow. Jaja and family, thank you so so so much. I always feel so nourished after visiting Jaja's.

The food is amazing... home made sauces, fresh ingredients, home made vegan meat, crisps, and the best vegan fried egg are my highlights. I always get their tamarind sauce with the vegan chicken, but I also love the duck, pork. I love their vegetables, I get the red rice with the ginger and little mushrooms. I can't believe it's all 100% vegan. It is sooooo delicious. Atmosphere is beyond a 5/5. Beautiful artistic, heartfelt deco, inspired by recycling, bright and lovely. Family creative and tender heart vibes... they are so sweet and smiling and always do their best. I can't thank you enough Jaja vegan. Khap...

Rate the Atmosphere? Hot &sticky!!🤣 It Thailand. Super chilled spot, beautiful people providing full vegan Thai, absolutely delicious! Panaeng curry the fav so far out of massaman, spring roll, however these are all awesome! The Panaeng was one of those "oh wow!" Moments you say out loud when that first spoonful awakens your buds on the way past.
