Mae Haad Tree House Bar, Viewpoint and Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Nestled in a wooded area overlooking Mae Haad Beach, this Treehouse Bar is a perfect oasis to sip on drinks and relax. It is a little difficult to find if walking up from the beach, but can be accessed more easily via a road at the back of the bar. All the trouble is worth it for the stunning sunset views this bar offers, with the added bonus of hammocks and attentive service.

The bar itself is in an actual treehouse and requires patrons to climb up a ladder for access. There is also a small pool next to the bar to escape the heat if needed. The treehouse is mostly open with half the seats in the shade and the rest outside. Most of the seating is on comfortable cushions and matresses on the floor as well as a few hammocks strung up for ultimate relaxation. The beer and drinks are cheap here, even when compared to the rest of the island and the music is modern but perfect for the calming nature of the bar. The bartenders are attentive without being obtrusive and keep the vibe just right for sitting down and taking in the view for hours.

Really the only way to describe this place is unreal. Without a doubt one of the coolest places I have ever eaten at. The hill up to it is pretty steep but well worth the walk. If you took a scooter I would leave it at the bottom of the hill. Inside is small with limited seating. When we arrived it was a mix of backpackers hanging out and other tourists enjoying the view. We got lucky and caught the sunset. Food was good considering how small the kitchen looked and the price was reasonable. The view though is the highlight and absolutely incredible. Amazing place to watch the sunset, on a clear day you want to arrive here around 16:30 so you can get a great table before crowds arrive. Keep in mind on Wednesdays, they are closed.
