Nong View Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Terrible place. Went here and ordered a eggplant & tofu curry and specifically asked for it to not be spicy as I do in most places here in Thailand. The curry comes out and no joke it's one of the spiciest curries I've ever tasted and I've been to Sri lanka, Indonesia ect. I informed the waiter to let her know that I asked for it not to be spicy and it's so hot and she just walks off. Ok... so we just go to pay and Inform the lady at the counter that I told the other waiter it was too hot and it wasn't a mistake she was just being rude. Then the lady at the counter starts trying to argue with me and forcing me to pay as I had ordered it even though I sent it back as it wasn't right. She goes on a rant about how 'it's not a curry if it's not spicy' which is just stupid. Would rather have a flavoursome curry then one where my mouth is on fire and I can't taste anything.

MORAL of the story, rude staff, don't listen and Cleary just want your money. DON'T GO HERE. please got to Thai smile down the road where the lady is lovely and makes...

We asked for eggs and they gave us like this. Like this is a restaurant we pay more than a supermarket so we expect minimum decency and cleanness. They give the eggs for us to take out the shell with our own hands? 🤨🤨🤨 this is crazy. We pay because we want the eggs to be taken out of shell and washed ready to eat. No cleanness at all. Other menu might be good but staff doesn’t speak English so they can’t attend customers well, although they charge English prices. The other food might be good but please never order boiled eggs in this restaurant or I hope if you do someday they have already learned how to serve boiled eggs ready for a person to eat. Because if it’s to remove shells I buy them at supermarket for 5 baht and take shells at home. In the end I didn’t eat the eggs I took home washed it and ate. As I asked them to wash it after I REMOVED THE SHELLS but it didn’t came back clean. I’m scared. They don’t understand the language and might have even made it dirtier...

Had lunch and dinner here three times, and the food was consistently excellent, especially the fresh fish and seafood.

While the service wasn't the best initially with the owner not appearing welcoming on our first visit, her demeanor improved with subsequent visits.

We even engaged in several conversations where she shared insights about the island and recommended places to explore. Her husband offered us taxi trips and took us to the south of the island for a very low price.
