Don't let the 'low key' appearance of this restaurant fool you. The food is absolutely delicious and Khun Toh makes sure it is super-fresh by picking his produce up fresh every morning. The menu is in English and its extensive. You will find all your favourite Thai dishes and much more. I tried the Crispy pork with basil and chilli and green chicken curry (that may sound 'boring' but its the way I benchmark on my first visit to a new place). I used to live in Thailand so I have had a lot of curries to compare and Toh's is 5*. To keep the prices reasonable, and to ensure his restaurant is attractive to both locals and visitors alike, this restaurant has self-service drinks. Drinking water is available to self-pour and the fridge is full of ice-cold refreshments. I love it when a restaurant owner thinks of ways to put their customers first. It is obvious the owner (Toh) cares a lot about the quality of the food and also the cleanliness - the place is immaculate!. The owner himself services his guests and then supervises everything happening in the kitchen until your dinner is delivered to your table. This is a place you can go, get a really quality meal, be treated well and pay a very fair price. Its a no-brainer! Don't miss it when you visit the southern part...
Read moreI recently visited Toh Chuan Chim and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, with elegant decor and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home.
The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes that cater to every palate, from classic favorites to innovative new creations. We started with the Morning glory and were blown away by the flavors – fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I chose the chicken with cashew nut, which was cooked to perfection, with tender meat and rich, complementary flavors that made each bite delightful.
What truly set this restaurant apart, however, was the service. Our server was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect.
To top it off, we indulged in the fresh coconut, which was the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal. The portion sizes were generous, and the pricing was fair given the high quality of both food and service.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend Toh Chuan. It’s the kind of place that you’ll want to return to...
Read moreThis local Thai restaurant is located very near the village of Hua Thanon, and is about 100 metres down from where the 4170 road meets the ring-road, the 4169, at a 'T' junction, on the junction is a 7/11, it is almost opposite a fruit stall, and is right next to a local laundry. It is a must to visit not just because it is such reasonable value but because the food is outstanding! Khun Toh, the proprietor and outstanding chef, makes his dishes to original island recipes, and as such gives well-known dishes like Chicken-with-Cashew-Nuts, a whole new, delightful and surprising twist! Consequently, it is frequented by many both young and old expats, and tourists who are in the know, many of whom have left comments and opinions on the comments board in the restaurant. The restaurant has fans to keep you cool, and has seating for approximately 30 customers, and there is access to a very clean, 'European-style' toilet. Khun Toh, and his staff speak excellent English, and Khun Toh is an outstanding guitarist too! My wife and I, together with friends, eat here at least once a week and, if we lived nearer, we'd go more often because the food is outstanding. Highly...
