Papilio House — Restaurant in Ubon Ratchathani Province

We heard about this place from a friend of ours here. The ambience is very nice. A place where you can just chill and take a break from the hot weather and hang out with friends. The food also is very good and pricing is not bad either. We got the shrimp paste fried rice with pork. You taste that saltiness of the shrimp paste but doesn't over do it. Just enough to compliment it with the braised pork that comes with it. Then you have fresh mangoes, beans, shallots, and chilli's at the side to add to your heart's content.

We also got a dessert with the bread toast and green tea with red bean. The ice cream and toasted chewy bread go very well with each other. I tried it with the red bean on top but felt to be too sweet for me but overall I liked it. I would definitely go back and would...

Dinner at Panwa House last night. This restaurant is next to Papillio (same owners). Mainly fish and seafood on the menu, more limited choice of pork, beef and chicken. Food tasted delicious. Not expensive. Wine from France, Spain and Chile (from 1290 Baht). Nice and cozy decorated restaurant with things from days gone by. live music. Dessert menu is that of Papillio. Unfortunately, the Belgian waffles were sold out. No Belgian waffles, but the Thai alternative. Downside: if you want to pay with a credit card, it will cost you 3% extra. One of the best restaurant in town, they just opened during Covid19. So, they are pretty new since we came on Mar’21. The staff are nice even they didn’t know much about western menus but they could training and gain more experience. Food here are awesome!!! Especially, steaks, rips and fries!!! We tried more than 12 menus and more than 70% were great to us. They have less wine choices but still going well with food. Reasonable price. The restaurant is decorated like a barn, they did really good job!!! Will be right back if I visit...
