ร้านอาหารฟาโรห์เฮาส์ — Restaurant in Udon Thani Province

After my LONG flight from Seattle, my wifes aunt took us to this restaurant for lunch. At first, i thought it was an Egyptian restaurant (because of the name, and all the Egyptian stuff), but it's only "Egyptian" by name. The atmosphere is relaxed, and there is a monitor that has a video introduction to wines on loop. The restaurant has a varied assortment of wines and beers from different locales, and the menus are both english/thai (which is good for those like me!). Unlike most restaurants, they offer both thai and European food as well....including steaks. I went with the seafood hot plate, and it was very good....containing a generous amount of seafood and vegetables, all in a flavorful sauce. We also had the fried beef and stir-fried vegetables...and everything was quite tasty. The service was adequate, albeit a bit slow (as with almost all restaurants in thailand), and the staff was pleasant and helpful. We went there during lunch hour, but i can easily see many people there during the Evening as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant....especially for going with...

Arrived at this lovely restuarant with my wife. It has an upmarket ambiance and a pretty outdoor area. It serves Italian and Thai food and I recommend the Thai menu for family dining as they have a very poor understanding of how to serve European food. We both ordered soup, pumpkin soup for my wife and union soup for me. My wife ordered a pasta dish as her main course and I ordered a pizza. My wife's pasta dish arrived first and we pointed out to the waiter that we had ordered soup. 15 minutes later my wife's soup arrived at the table. Despite pointing out the poor order of service it was another 10 minutes before my pizza arrived, the onion soup arriving 5 minutes later. Either they need to teach their staff in what order to serve European food and to serve both parties at the same time or they should stick...

I have eaten here several times and the service has been poor on most occasions. I had a very tough steak and the waiter said I should have ordered the Rib Eye so next time I did and it was very overcooked I sent it back so the chef thought it would be amusing to send a steak out almost raw. I sent it back again and it came back okay. Last night my wife and I went again. The service was poor causing another group to leave whilst complaining loudly, but aside from that we both now have bad stomachs. We are now going to have blood tests done to see if we can find out what the chef did...
