Khao Soi Thai Yai Restaurant (Ua Udon) — Restaurant in Udon Thani Province

Stumbled upon this place and loved the Khao Soi! The owner was so helpful in explaining to me the dishes in English.

Ordered: Khao Soi Beef (10/10 Utterly delicious with a balanced taste of coconut milk with the curry. Served with thick yellow noodles with crispy noodles and huge chunks of beef, that's soft and easily chewed on.) Nam Ngeaw Fishball (8/10 Served with vermicelli noodles with pig's blood, fish balls and crab cakes) Northern Thai Sausage (8/10 delicious and meaty Thai sausages that aren't dry and filled with herbs) Pork Cracklings (crispy, goes well with the noodles)

Will definitely visit again when...

A simple restaurant with a focus on Tai Yai northern Thai food such as Khao Soi noodles and Gaeng Hang Lay. Combination dishes featuring a selection of northern sausages and curries are offered for those unfamiliar with northern Thai cuisine.

The restaurant serves excellent and inexpensive dishes. Their famous Khao Soi noodle curry topped with crispy yellow noodles in a coconut broth is available in chicken, pork and beef versions.

This is a lunchtime restaurant and is located not far from Udon Thani's main airport entrance. it is closed in the late afternoon...

Highly recommend this place for it's top notch food and friendly staff.

I had mixed meat Kao Soi which was great (as expected) but also Larb Moo. The latter is a must-taste for anyone who likes this dish because they make it pretty differently to standard Larb Moo (more spices).
