Russell Sunset Bar — Restaurant in Wichit

Our first time visiting Russel Sunset Bar was just at the end of Covid in April 2022. We were staying in Cape Panwa Hotel and wandered into the bar to be greeted with smiles all around. It very quickly became our local for the holiday. The atmosphere there is great - you come back from your day trips or relaxing day on the beach, Russel and Arissa are just such lovely people that they make you feel right at home. Before you know it, hours have passed by and you’ve spent the evening having an absolute laugh with either Russel, Arissa or other holidaymakers. At the beginning of the year we decided on visiting Phuket again and chose to stay in Cape Panwa so we could be close to the Sunset Bar, and our experience reaffirmed that we had made the right decision. We’ve gone home with more good memories, more good friendships and a stronger connection with everyone from Russel Sunset Bar. Speaking of which - the drinks are incredibly reasonably priced, the street food vendors are within spitting distance from the bar and you may be lucky enough to be allowed to bring some of the food back to your table. Sure, you could go to some massive bar in Patong, but if you’re looking for a bar where the staff will remember you every time you visit - this is the one. By the way, I recommend...

Visited Russell's on a number of occasions whilst staying at the Cape Panwa. Top top atmosphere and a service to match. Wide range of cocktails and drinks to choose from and all at very reasonable prices. You were able to recommend excursions which were worthwhile and others to avoid which we took advantage of. I'm still gutted I never got to buy a tshirt and also, didn't take a picture of the gents toilet - You'll see the reason why if you ever go. The biggest plus (as mentioned in Davina's review) was the post 11pm lift home. I dont think Me & Chez could've made the hill without you. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. Russel Sunset Bar is hands down one of the best hidden gems in Phuket. The view during sunset is nothing short of magical — a perfect blend of ocean, sky, and chill vibes. Russel himself is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which gives the whole place a laid-back, local feel that’s hard to find in touristy areas.

Drinks are well-priced, cocktails are strong and tasty, and the music sets the perfect vibe without being too loud. Whether you’re coming with friends or just want a quiet moment with a cold drink and a breathtaking view, this is the place.
