I can't quite leave a review for the cones yet, but I am incredibly impressed by the level customer service and empathy that Avi has demonstrated.
TL;DR: My boyfriend and I tried going to the Dough Cone this past Sunday. When the location on the Facebook page was incorrect and they were about to close, he was willing to wait with his team to make sure we got to try some DoughCone on him. When we said we didn't want his staff to wait and that we would just get some another time, he coordinated a day where we could go (along with some friends and family)
I've been attempting to get Dough Cone ice cream since August 2017. This past Sunday (3/11/2018) I literally structured my day around it, checked the Facebook page, checked the hours, and made a plan to be in the area an hour before the truck closed.
When my boyfriend and I finally arrived at the location specified by Facebook, we were not able to find it. We ended up calling and to be honest, I was a bit irate because this was the third time I had gone out here and the truck was not there (first two times were on me, I should have checked their Facebook updates and the non-catering hours).
Avi was incredibly empathetic and told us where the truck was actually located and how to find it in the future. He was also thankful, as the incorrect Facebook location explained the difficulty other patrons were having finding The Dough Cone. The truck closed in about 30 minutes at that point in time, and he offered to stay there and make sure we were finally able to experience the Dough Cone (all on him). We didn't want to make him wait or pay for our cones, so we said we'd catch him next week.
Shortly after the call, Avi texted us to invite us and 10 of our family/friends to The Dough Cone. He was even willing to have it split it into 2 visits so an out of town friend could make it during a different week.
I am amazed by this amount of customer service and can't wait to finally try...
Read moreI hired The DoughCone food truck for a recent event, and I genuinely can’t say enough good things about the experience. From start to finish, they went above and beyond—not just with their incredible desserts, but with their full-service catering and event support.
The doughcones themselves? Absolutely unreal. Fresh, warm, cinnamon-sugar cones filled with the creamiest ice cream and all the over-the-top toppings you could dream of. Our guests were obsessed—we’re still getting texts about them weeks later!
But what really blew me away was how much more they brought to the table. They helped us source amazing entertainment—live music, a magician that had everyone in awe, and even professional bartenders who kept the vibe flowing all night. It felt like we had an entire event team in our corner, not just a food truck.
The staff was professional, upbeat, and genuinely fun to work with. They made the planning process so smooth and handled everything with confidence and creativity. I felt completely taken care of, and more importantly, my guests had an unforgettable time.
If you’re planning an event and want something that’s both delicious and next-level in terms of experience, book The DoughCone. Seriously. Best...
Read moreI don't know if this would classify as a full experience for dough cone.
For teacher appreciation, our school had their mobile food truck come to our school. There was only one attendant who served 50 plus adults. The attendant was responsible for taking the orders and then making the orders. I'm a simple vanilla ice cream and Oreo toppings type of guy, so that's what I ordered. It took upwards of 20 to 29 (this time seems random but I know it because I was on my lunch break which is 30 minutes) minutes between getting my order taken and then waiting in line for her to take a couple more orders and then prepare the 10 to 12 orders that she had taken.
I gave them three stars because the thought and planning that went into it wasn't very good. My last gripe would be that at the bottom of the ice cream there is some type of dough that has an alcoholic or maybe just a taste I am not familiar with. I am not a fan of that dough/bread. Purposefully or if that's some type of accident? Either way, I need to be alerted to anything that's going to be placed in my ice cream.
Edit: It was explained to me how the situations from that delicious yet interesting experience happened, because of that, I'm raising my star count...
