The overall experience was terrible. The food was horrible. Limited wine selection and the services provided by staff were horrible. The restaurant owner was fast to throw me under the bus when I put up on Facebook that my experience was not so good. Victoria the owner wrote me at her defense that I was merely in mean spirited downgraded her restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fine dining. The wine was horrible, and again at her defense they could not find good wine selections. For a restaurant this magnitude, they should be getting their wines from New Zealand and stock up. There was only one bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and when we ordered it, they gave it already to another table. We then ordered Pinot Grigio, and this bottle was tasteless and seemed very old. The quality of food was again disgusting. Lamb was ordered without the sauce or gravy (whatever they called it) -- request was to put sauce or gravy on the side. When they were asked to take them away, the plate was returned stating (by the chef) that the lamb was actually slow cooked in the gravy. There was beef salad, and the meat was so hard. There were other issues with the food and so I will end it there. Overall, it was definitely a horrific experience.
Please owners, try to be proactive and up your game. I had traveled the world and had enjoyed numerous top-notch...
Read moreI recently visited Top Tonga and while there were some positives, the overall experience was marred by significant issues that are hard to overlook.
Let me start with the positives: the staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating. They did their best to manage the situation and were as helpful as they could be under the circumstances.
However, the negatives far outweighed the positives. We were waiting for our main meal—by up to three hours. I understand that delays can happen, but the lack of timely updates or apologies was disappointing. When I inquired about the status of our food, the owner’s response was not only unhelpful but also shockingly rude.
Instead of providing an update, the owner displayed a concerning level of attitude and aggression that they were understaffed. Not only did they yell at me, but they also made offensive comments about my physical appearance. This behavior was completely unacceptable and made the entire dining experience extremely uncomfortable.
While the staff tried their best, the owner’s conduct was a major letdown and overshadowed any positive aspects of the visit. I hope the management addresses these serious issues, as no guest should have to endure such treatment. Until then, I would recommend considering other dining options where respect and customer service...
Read moreFood here is some of the best in the country! A fusion of international cuisines with the incorporation of local produce that just elevates it to restaurant quality. Most people in Tonga go for the steak, however, one of our menu options was the pork loin served with kumara (similar to sweet potato). HIGHLY recommend to overseas visitors if it’s on the menu! The apple sauce and gravy as well as the cheese sauce over the kumara? Absolutely incredible! All seafood entrees are an absolute must if you get the chance! I’ve been here on several occasions but my most recent experience has been the best one yet! Victoria and her amazing husband really catered to our every need for a wedding dinner we had for 30 guests. A quality that Tonga oftentimes overlook is their customer service etiquette. The TOP however is leading in bringing customers personal and intricate dining experiences! I experienced one of the easiest dinner plannings (this is for a wedding by the way!) and we got nothing but the best! We paid for elegance and a great menu, but evidently got more than we paid for: we had privacy, amazing service, and Victoria’s wealth of knowledge to anticipate problem areas in which she resolved. God bless you, your husband and the business you both run! Thank you for such an amazing evening and a...
