Hollywood BBQ & Grill Shack — Restaurant in Port of Spain

They have a nice variety of fast grilled food. Fast with a pinch of salt. Their food taste good and for a very good price. There pepper is really tasty and really hot. Take it from a person who eats alot of pepper. The only down fall is they move abit slow at times and the can do with a little customer service training. Service is on the ok side, not the best and not the worst. But a definite must try. I RECOMMEND.

UPDATED on 23/12/2020 As with most food places in Trinidad they start off good good and as soon as they get a clientele their stand drop. So is the case with this place. The standard, quality and quantity has certain and stupendously dropped. When they had just open I could have eaten one box of food twice. Now the same box is like half the amount of food. Let me give an example, one night I purchased 4 boxes of food against my better judgement given a prior experience I had, thinking it was a one off experience. One of the box of food was chicken and fries with an additional portion of fries. When the 4 boxes was presented neither I nor the cashier could identify which was the one with the additional fries. Upon enquiring the chef as well couldn't identify which it was, as all 4 boxes were chicken and fries. The chef was upset about my enquiry and pointed out one of the boxes which he said had more fries. I indicated to him I paid fo tr an additional portion of fries and that don't seem to me like an extra portion. He took it to the back emptied some of the fries into a smaller box and brought back the box with less fries and the next box with about 15 grains of fries (steak cut fries). He was blatantly upset with my enquiry and so was I and my other colleague. We have since boycotted. And we would usually purchase from them every week at least once per week and at LEAST 4 boxes. Went for lunch, got in before it got too busy, and it did get busy! Always a good sign. Service was helpful and pleasant. Order took a while to be prepared but the order was relatively large (5 burgers, one order of pork chops). The menu needs updating as numerous items that sound really good are no longer offered.

The flavor of the food is good, but closer to good enough. The steak fries were good. Not limp and soggy, not overcooked. The bun could've used a bit of toasting but it was soft and held up well.

The beef burger is seasoned well, and is prominently favored with rosemary, but without biting into any leaves; that's a good accomplishment to me.

Unfortunately, while the patty was cooked well and had a nice brown to the crust, it was a little on the dry side and the patty was considerably smaller than the bun. Any good patty maker knows you make the patty larger than the bun to account for the patty shrinking on the grill.

I'd patronize again, to try some other items on the menu such as the wings, as the flavors on offer sound good(let's hope the items on the menu are...

Visited the branch on the avenue today and I must say I was very disappointed. I called in my order so was just for me to pick up when I reach, I ordered one box of lamb and fries only and the next with lamb and fresh salad alone. On my arrival to pick up my order I told the cashier I had a pick up order, she asked me for the number and processed to cash me out, she then went to see if it was ready which it wasn't but I didn't mind waiting a bit. On waiting for my order you could of hear everything I will guest was the kitchen staff was speaking about and it wasn't appropriate conversation for guest waiting to be hearing. My order came out and it wasn't what I ordered I was given rice and salad with the lamb which I didn't asked for, so it had to go back to the kitchen and be fixed over. The cashier seem more interested in her phone than attending to the guest in front of her. I received my order and it was disappointing to still see all the rice still on the lamb.
