Had dinner on a Saturday night and I am sad to say it was a very disappointing experience
Town restaurant has revised their menu. Items on the menu that I always specifically go to the restaurant for, as a vegetarian, had been removed. There is no more Hot and sour soup (which I typically order as a vegetarian version) They have excluded certain side dishes, including my absolute favourite : baked potato with butter. Additionally, there is no veggie burger and barely any vegetarian sides. They never had vegetarian wontons and that still stands. Thankfully, they have kept tofu on the menu. The things that made my town experience amazing, are mostly gone as they seem to have cut off quite a few things because they seem to not care about vegetarians. This is super disappointing and I definitely do not feel like I'll be going back.
Our waitress was an absolute displeasure. She was very rude, talking over me while I was speaking. She was harsh and impolite while attending to us. This isn't our first encounter with her as we frequent the restaurant over the years (because of the vegetarian options). And no interaction was ever pleasant. Our wait time was over 40-45mins when finally she brought out our appetizer and main course altogether. We are so accustomed to getting the appetizer first then the main course. It was very poor to leave her table to remain hungry near short of an hour while she knew we ordered appetizers. The etiquette is poor. She forgot an order (a soup) which would be an appetizer, and then proceeded to argue with us that we never ordered it. It was very embarrassing on her part and made us very uncomfortable.
The last time we visited the restaurant, this same waitress had been rude to us, Except that time, as soon as we were seated... she told us we have to leave at a given time duration because some other party was supposed to use that table. She said this, even though we had made reservations in advance! We literally just arrived, barely settled, didn't even order, and she was telling us when we HAVE to leave by this given time.. which was about an hr. It was really uncomfortable. And not to mention, she took exceptionally long to take our orders and bring the food. (Especially for someone who was practically running us out and giving us a time limit to eat) We felt rushed and unhappy and just hustled our food and left because she told us our time limit approximately 3 times that Night. Read moreI am a regular customer at town restaurant. However Im not sure if town is still serving freshly made food for every order when dining. On saturday 29th January 2023, my wife and I reserved dinner. Had our usual apetizers then ordered main course. The rice was tasteless with no salt and was cold/ normal temperature,the singapore noodles was just boiled with veges, the chunkey vege was just steamed with no salts etc. I explained to the waiter i was displeased of the taste and also the freshness of the food wasnt as usual. He then reported to the chef and asked if we would like the meal to be made over. I then said no because i was already turned off with the taste of the food. I was very displeased so i ask for the bill and made the full payment. The balance of food was boxed for take away. I told my wife that we would try to use up the balance of food for lunch the next day but I wont be eating any rice and noodles because it tasted really poor. After leaving the restaurant at 7:25pm to reach our home destination in central trinidad at approximately 8:05pm the food was placed directly into my refridgerator. Today Sunday 29th January 2023 at 11am i decided to prepare the remaining of the untouched 1/4 portions just to realise the rice was spoil and the singapore noodles was a bit slippery. I told my wife we shouldnt eat this food and it was disposed to the garbage, i didnt even plan on giving my dog or a street person to have this because what i dont eat i dont see it fit to share especially if food is spoil. As a regular customer purchasing town atleast twice per month every month im rather displeased and i really hope that management work on there kitchen chef and please start preparing hot fresh food for customers to eat at all times. As a business owner myself i believe in delivering high quality service at all times even if customers cant reach the payment. I wouldnt like any refund or free food but i would highly appreciate if town management can look into there kitchen chef as well as making sure fresh food is prepared for all and not some. In 30 minutes to home i highly doubt rice and noodles can spoil knowing it was refridgerated asap. I have 8 family members that would be flying in for the carnival and my plan was to take them all to town restaurant one day for dinner but now i am definitely going to look at other reputable options. Read moreI am a visitor from Canada, I visited your restaurant on Friday 12 July 2025, we booked a reservation for 8 people fir 7 pm , earlier that day the front called and told us ,we can dine earlier if we are available , we accept , we were there 15 mins later that the time we agreed , got to the restaurant and was greeted by a rude staff at the front desk , oh you are late and we give away your table, we were in shocked of her behavior to the guest , our response to her was ,why the restaurant did not called us and say hey guys are you still available for dining or you want to reschedule for a different time,after the lack of communication ,we got seated to our table, the servers were very professional . We sat for a few minutes before we order our dinner ,we noticed there were no music in the entire restaurant while the customers were dining, we proceed to ask one our the servers ,if there was no music or what is the policy , he did not know why there was no music, our table requested for him to asked the manager who there was no music ?the server returned and told us the manager said there is something wrong with the system, as the owner of the establishment you did not take the time to come and express to the customers or apologize to the customer. On your website you stated strick dress code for customers voing into your establishment , no thin strap or off the shoulders but to my amazement there were many ladies that your staff allowed in , but my male friend was not allowed to enter , he had to go home ,I personally was disrurb how the night was unfold , I am dissatisfied, disappointed, and annoyed to be dining with voices and knives and forks clinging all night. Mr or Mrs town please address , concerns in the comments ,do not speak down to your staff and treat them with the utmost of respect because if you don't have a staff you don't have a business and if the staff under performs it's because of the way management iew the staff's. , I will reconsider if I will visit or recommend my friends.
