Wan's Chinese Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in San Fernando

The parking lot can use some work, with some painted lines, but it is adequate to hold at least 20-30 cars depending on the quality of parking done by patrons. The seating is comfortable . Basic seating can hold 4-5 persons with a room in the back capable of holding parties of 10-15 persons ( which is available to book and use at no extra cost ). The chairs and tables are above the basic quality (as good as "high end" restaurants like Great Wall) but just under places like Hyatt restaurant. The booths are comfortable for parties of 4. The staff is extremely helpful though it can take a 10-15 mins to be seated at high times. The food and drink service time is within respectable limits ,5-10 for drinks and 20-30 mins for food. The food is flavourful, not because of extremely expensive ingredients but due to the establishment using genuinely good and fresh ingredients. They aren't your run of the mill "Trini Chinese Food" restaurant. It's fast food with come care and consideration put into it to allow Thier patrons to have a food experience that will keep them...

I am a bit reluctant in rating Wan's 3 stars but it's for 2 reasons.

The restaurant layout is excellent. Takeout & the bar are completely separated from the dining room. There is ample walking room to get to the seating accommodation HOWEVER the main air-conditioning unit for the dining area is located directly above a dining table & water condensed on the vent of the air conditioning unit was dripping on to the table as well as the seat. Management should have a keener eye for this as well as the owner should've had better judgement in placing that unit there.

The food was fantastic. It was well presented & well plated. The dishes were well seasoned & nothing was over-salted which is the case with alot of restaurants but this was not the case @ Wan's. The dishes were well done. Every bite was delicious & full of flavor HOWEVER Wan's you lost points for SERVING SIZE. Your quarter portions pale in comparison to other Chinese restaurants & we're sadly INADEQUATE. This was your greatest flaw.

Had lunch here with family. Our order was promptly taken and food came really quickly. Service was really good. We ordered beef in oyster, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, chunky veg and fried chicken wantons for starters. Everything tasted great, the beef was tender,juicy and very flavourful. Maybe slightly salty. The chicken was also good. The restaurant is fairly big with tables that can cater for larger parties and private tables at the back. I like the terracotta warrior statues at the front. The male restroom needs attention. There is parking at the front for a few cars, we were lucky to get parking on the day.
