My family and I went to Bite Me Bistro on the 11th of November for a quick brunch around 11:30am. We were seated and a Venezuelan server came to take our order.
We started with drinks, I ordered a French vanilla cappuccino, my daughter ordered a juice and my fiancĂ©e ordered a hot latte with caramel. The server had a hard time understanding but we remained patient and explained ourselves carefully. First she told us we could not get the caramel latte, as itâs just a latte so we asked if she could go find out as last time we were there we got a hot caramel latte, she refused to ask someone else for clarification. My fiancĂ©e pointed at the menu under âhot drinksâ and said sheâll have the latte but with additional caramel syrup. The server said okay and left. About 10mins after, she came back with my cappuccino, my daughterâs juice and an ICED CARAMEL LATTE! My fiancĂ©e said thatâs not what she ordered and the server insisted that thatâs the only caramel latte they have on menu after we specifically pointed and told her HOT and add extra caramel. We told her we would like to see another server, at this point weâre starving and we just want to get our order and eat. She made it seem like she understood us but clearly it wasnât so. Another server came and she said no we donât do the caramel latte hot and we explained again itâs just the hot latte with caramel and that weâve had it there before, she obliged and went to make the order.
So now weâre thinking okay, thatâs out the way weâll wait for our food and enjoy the rest of brunch. Well we were wrong! The manager/supervisor came to approach us in the most distasteful, arrogant way ever. I would think as a manager you would first apologize to the customer and then explain or have the situation explained to you. This full of it arrogant woman immediately started to defend the initial server. Her opening words to us were, âhi I heard about what happened just now, I would like to let you all know that there are different cultures and everyone has to be treated the sameâŠâ (no introduction to who she was). My fiancĂ©e immediately interjected and told her no this is not about cultures, this is simply not understanding or even going to ask for help when I asked her too, the Venezuela server refused to ask someone else and she had an attitude at that. The manager went on to saying she never had a problem with this server blah blah; she was only defending the server and not actually dealing with the situation. The tone in which she approached us with was opposing and confrontational. We decided that we did not want to dine again and I got up to pay for the drinks, but the manager said donât bother to pay for it. So we left. BITE ME BISTRO WILL NEVER SEE US AGAIN AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. Worst customer service!
Thank God our day was turned around by the amazing staff at Bisou Bakery and Cakery. 10/10. Other people we spoke to for the rest of the day about this situation all said yeah thatâs bite me bistro for you; the worst customer service and attitudes and they wonât recommend anyone there either.
So to Bite me Bistro, train your managers, supervisors and staff on customer service. Thereâs no problem hiring people of different nationalities but ensure they speak and can understand a level of English so as to properly communicate with...
Read moreThe food was good, but service absolutely horrible. There was one server Iâll admit was really nice but that couldnât trump everyone/thing else. Never have I ever felt so rushed to order, eat and pay. I should have anticipated the mood of the place when I received my hot beverage in a takeaway paper coffee cup. Itâs all about fitting in as many people within a certain timeframe, rather than creating a customer experience. Before you can even order anything extra, a bill appears in front of you, no questions asked. I also saw two more people get rushed off their tables(while they were still eating) so that they could seat more people. I will not be back. ........ Since I cannot respond to your detailed time stamp encounter with us, I will just add this. Since this place was new to everyone, the other 2 people in our party couldn't find the place hence their late arrival(not everyone has google maps). We were told we needed to place everyone's food order since just our coffee order wasn't enough to hold the table we were already on (and the reason the nice waitress insisted that she keep our food in the back warmed when the food arrived).
If you want to talk about the environment, wouldn't minimal waste of paper and plastic be better?
You ask why we didn't just leave? It's because we invited 2 people to join us. The same two that spent some time trying to find the place while we made intermittent phone calls to them, to get their meal orders in.
In closing, i'm glad YOU have all these positive reviews. It's the reason I chose this place to take my loved ones on this holiday. What I should have read though, was how you responded to your lower reviews. It's a rash and defensive attack on people that have written an honest review on their experience. I especially loved the hearts you left on a few of them.
I'm sure I have ruined +1:11:14 of your day from what it seems. And also clear you don't want repeat business or to understand what really went on. I feel sorry for your staff that have be directed by you and then thrown under the bus to be fired.
And to use your own words "IF YOU DON"T PERSONALLY KNOW" me, you don't get to comment on...
Read moreFirst time visit on a friendâs referral. My order arrived quickly and the salt fish omelette was tasty. However, only white bread, no whole wheat. Ordered a cappuccino which seemed more like a latte, disappointingly served in a take away cup. I wondered if it was freshly brewed coffee. When I raised a concern about the coffee, the attendant was rather rude about it. Whatâs worse is that she appeared to be a supervisor. My original server however was very pleasant. Valentineâs Day decor took away from the otherwise pleasant ambience. Air conditioning much too cold. I will not be back.
Based on the ownerâs comments below, thank you for proving my point about the service. What a pity that you are not receptive to a paying customer expressing a few areas for improvement. Youâd rather attack me. The same reaction I received to my concerns about the coffee. I suppose you only acknowledge and appreciate glowing feedback. But silly me, I should have read the reviews first. This seems to be your standard response to any negative customer feedback. To think I was tempted to give a 2 star review instead of a 3 at first.
Yes, you allowed me in at 7:58 a.m. when you open at 8 a.m. Thank you. My comment was that the (additional) decorations were tacky. I suppose you missed my comment about âotherwise pleasant ambienceâ. Based on your reaction to the coffee, I felt it was better to hurry up and leave than to risk asking you to turn down the air conditioning. I may have been better off stopping for 2 doubles or a fruit vendor. Likely...
