Fai's Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Trinidad

Exactly as I remembered it!

To me, Fai's has been a long standing good Chinese restaurant on Tunapuna Main Road. After being introduced to them in the 90s I have dined on and off regularly during the 90s and 2000s. Then moved away for a bit and just visited again reopening a whole set of pleasant memories that I havr had at this restaurant with different friends and family.

The interior is a little dark and heavy for my taste, alot of wood in use, but is always clean.

AND the food is always tasty with decent portion sizes. Their Char Sui is absolutely delicious.

The staff are also pleasant to deal with.

You can dine-in or take-away with at least 100 options on the menu. Every time I visit I dine-in and I have yet to have a poor experience. I highly recommend them.

The only reason I'm giving a four star rating is due to the fact that the interior is a little dated and dimly lit during the day. Not sure what the experience is like at night.

Wheelchair access is possible as everything is on the ground floor with adequate door space for smaller chairs. Clean bathrooms. Access to a bar. Liquor served. Basic coffee and tea options available.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. FROM THE MOMENT I ARRIVED, THE CASHIER HAD A VERY NASTY ATTITUDE AND SEEMED EXTREMELY ANGRY TO BE THERE. WE SPENT $151.00, AFTER WE COLLECTED OUR FOOD WE REQUESTED THE LITTLE CONTAINERS FOR SOME PEPPER SAUCE THE CASHIER MS TRUDY GOT UP ANGRILY AND GOT 1 CONTAINER (WHICH WAS HALF FILLED) AND WALKED BACK TO THE REGISTER, I WENT OVER TO ASK FOR ANOTHER AND SHE GOT MAD TELLING ME THAT IT WAS FOR DELIVERY AND NOT FOR CUSTOMERS LIKE US. I TOLD THEM THAT THE ATTITUDE WAS UNNECESSARY AND REALLY BAD AND THAT I WONT BE RETURNING THE HEAD COOK INTERVENED AND THEN TOLD ME THAT THATS MY PROBLEM AND NOT HIS CONCERN IN A VERY RUDE MANNER (IN THE MOST DISRESPECTFUL WAY POSSIBLE. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOME WHERE ELSE IT WAS ALSO MY MOM...

Ok I have to make a edit. Their cashier is seriously lacking in customer service. I went back on two occasions. One was worst than the other. She a thick woman conversation was quick and lacking of courtesies. She cut the conversation / order request abruptly to answer the phone. No customer service courtesy at all. I'm my ordering i felt like burden not a customer. I was mid stream so I finished my order and then asked another staff member who was in charge as I have a issue with the customer service. I was informed that the boss was not there.

For now I'll spend my $$ elsewhere. I cant be spending money and made to feel like one I'm bothering someone..

Great food. But if these cashiers are what I got to deal...
