When the customers are more friendly than the owner and waitstaff there is a problem. When we arrived owner did not even greet us. After some time, the waiter showed up to take our order. Told us they could not do sushi platters which were on the menu, although the exact same items could be ordered individually. Although owner was present, he did not even bother to ask him. Waiter then studiously ignored us for the rest of the night and we had to ask another waiter to get him several times. We ordered some additional food for takeout at start of meal. At the end of our meal, after we eventually tracked him down to pay bill he left to get our takeout order, and promptly disappeared again for another 10 mins. We had to go to the kitchen, in front of owner to complain. Owner did his best to studiously ignore us. Food was left open in kitchen and only when we asked did they start packing it up. To top it off when. we were paying bill , the waiter insisted on a tip for himself, despite the service charge, and his poor service. When asked where the service charge goes, he said to the kitchen, and he gets none. This is the first time i have felt like not leaving a waiter a tip, such was his inattentiveness which frankly bordered on deliberate. Imagine you are the owner of this establishment sitting there and doing nothing about it. Frankly, it seemed if you are not from the West, these people don't seem to want your business and go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome. On a positive note, the seafood...
Read moreDecor is not my cup of tea but I'll get into the crux of the matter. Pesto pasta (didn't try this as the waiter messed up my order and brought the wrong pasta) I posted the pic for display. I didn't taste it so I cannot review. Pasta #2 - the taste is really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Pasta was al dente and sauce was perfect. I did not like that mushrooms were raw an just sprinkled on top of the pasta. I also found the chicken to be dry. I had to use the pasta sauce to really soak up the chicken. Thai wings - really enjoyed the flavor of these. Absolutely delicious Seafood paella - the seafood tasted delicious, plump and fresh (it did not taste like frozen seafood and I thoroughly appreciated that). Definitely one of the best paellas I've had. My only gripe, would be the fish broth that the rice was cooked in, a bit too fishy-tasting for my liking. Coconut Almond caramel cake - I might have the name wrong, but this cake is a dream in your mouth. Top-notch. Delicious. 10/10. It is exactly as described. There's no shortage of almonds or coconut on it.
Make no mistake, I pointed out a few issues I had with the experience, but I did enjoy it overall. I will definitely return and I look forward to trying the rest...
Read moreCame here for Restaurant Week. This place usually has what I would call a casual menu, with appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. We went for the special pre-fix menumber for restaurant week. We started with the Ceviche which came with Plantain tostadas that were absolutely amazing and a Ajiaco Bogatano soup which is a Columbian Chicken soup. They were both very good. For the mains we went with the seafood paella in which the rice was a bit hard but had good flavor amd the Asado Argentino which was a steak with Brussels sprouts and red pepper, cassava fries, grilled corn, avocado dip, and chimichurri dip. I got the steak medium and that is exactly how it came out. The whole plate was outstanding from the look to the taste it was all good. Last was the chicolate cake which was highly recommended and very good and the Apple Crumble. The crumble was very good, but the apples in it...not so much. Overall a great meal. Their venture away from salads and sandwiches was a success. The service was also very good all waiters were very attentive. Would definitely return...
