Café Restaurant La Plage — Restaurant in Tunis

I recently dined at "café restaurant la plage" , and overall, it was an acceptable experience. The waiters were polite though not so attentive (we ordered sea bass, but were served gilt-head bream instead) However, the taste of the food was good, with the standout dish was the fish with garniture, "menu poisson" priced at 25 dinars—definitely worth recommending. However, the atmosphere was less than ideal, with so much background noise that it was hard to hear each other or even the music. Additionally, instead of providing a proper bill, they verbally informed us of the total, which I found unprofessional. The constant interruptions from people selling flowers and other items every 15 minutes literally detracted from the overall...

In una folle serata di Ramadan decido di venire a cenare in taxi (per puro caso dato che il locale scelto inizialmente era chiuso) in questo ristorante sul mare. Appena entrato noto subito una bella atmosfera e tavoli quasi tutti gremiti. Sono da poco passate le 7 di sera ma già non c’è posto! In realtà inizialmente non trovo neanche chi si occupi del locale tanto che per alcuni istanti vengo clamorosamente scambiato per uno degli addetti al locale quando una famiglia appena entrata mi indica quante persone a sedere saranno... L’ equivoco dura poco anche perché io non parlo arabo e il mio francese è a livello scolastico. Quando finalmente un cameriere ci accompagna al tavolo veniamo fatti sedere nel posto più “pericoloso”.. Praticamente “siamo sopra l’acqua”, il vento fortissimo e il mare in tempesta che sbatte continuamente contro la vetrata alla mia destra non mi danno sicurezza! Onestamente mi sento molto preoccupato perché non ho idea di quanto sia “affidabile” la struttura.. Nella confusione generale ( tra tantissima gente e musica locale) un cameriere che parla SOLO ARABO prova ad interagire con noi. Per farci capire quale sia il menu ci porta uno scontro con il costo di 360 dinari! Inizialmente non comprendo che quello sia il menu e cerco in tutti i modi di far capire che quella cifra non la pagherei mai.. Con non poche difficoltà riusciamo ad ordinare, si sceglie il Cous Cous. Il servizio è efficiente, veloce e buono. Il costo nella norma. Preoccupato per il continuo sbattere delle onde sulla struttura e infreddolito dal vento serale decido di finire il prima possibile e cercare qualcuno per pagare. In generale una serata che resterà memorabile! Un consiglio al locale: qualcuno che parli almeno francese o inglese base...

We had a lovely meal at Café Restaurant La Plage in La Goulette, just outside Tunis couple of days ago .The location is beautiful—right by the beach, with a refreshing sea breeze and plenty of shade, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view.

We ordered fish , which was fresh, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and the staff were welcoming.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and looking for good...
