Had a layover in Istanbul for 1 night and booked a room at the Airport Hotel in the neighbourhood. The hotel staff recommended this place for dinner and we were not disappointed. We had the mixed grill platter and veal skewers. Very tasty, authentic Turkish grilled cuisine. The space is clean, service is great, they are english speaking and overall made the meal very enjoyable with great service in this family business. Chef Ali was great 👍🏻👍🏻 Do consider dropping by if you are in the area, not to be disappointed!

On quick layover in istanbul just few km away from airport this restaurant should have a MICHELIN 🌟. I have travelled around the world and eaten in most fancied places. But food in this place is omg!!!!! Specially coming from indonesia this was a paradise for us. If i ever have to do layover in Istanbul this is only place im going to eat ! And best part all you can see in photo doesnt even cost 15e for 2 people

A fantastic Turkish café with delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere! We tried the soup, kebabs, and dürüm—everything was perfectly cooked and full of rich flavors. A great bonus was the complimentary sauces and freshly baked bread, which made the meal even better. The service was warm and attentive, and the portions were generous. Definitely a place we’d love to visit again!

The food was amazing. Maybe I just don't like Venetian cuisine as much, but I spent a week in Venice before my layover in Istanbul, and Mahmut was the best meal I had on my trip. Large enough portions that my wife and I had dinner and made wraps for lunch the next day at the airport. Since I was in town for only a night, I didn't have any cash, but the delivery guy drove me down the street to an ATM while I waited for food. Everyone was accommodating even though I don't speak Turkish. We made it work, and they were super friendly the whole time. And this all happened at 2 in the morning, right before they closed. Delicious and authentic Turkish food at very fair, non-touristy prices. The service was excellent—the waiter always made sure we had everything we needed, and they even offered us complimentary Turkish tea after lunch. If you’re staying overnight near the airport and want to enjoy authentic Turkish cuisine without making the trip into Istanbul city center, I recommend this restaurant 100%.
