Burger King — Restaurant in Bakırköy

I am not here to share the experience about the food or atmosphere…it’s standard like every Burger King. I am here to write about the service…SHADY (like the majority of businesses on the EU side). This seems to be the standard. After tapping to pay, the cashier said it didn’t work and then grabbed the card out of my hand and used the chip payment function. I asked for a receipt and they said the machine wasn’t printing/working. But then when I look around only the Turkish travelers have receipts…then when they call out numbers (I’m standing nearby) and asked what the order is when they’re calling numbers, the worker says “where’s your receipt??” I DONT HAVE IT BECAUSE YOUR CASHIER WOULD NOT GIVE IT TO ME. After 5 minutes of wasted time to tell the cashier to tell the food handler that I don’t have a receipt, I got my food.

SHADY!! But don’t be surprised if this happens to you when you travel to Istanbul. The Asian side is definitely a lot less shady.

Also, as a tip for travelers here: when you order an Uber, the driver will ALWAYS tell you it’s going to be more expensive than what the app says and ask to for cash (after telling you how busted his car is to make you feel bad).

Keep this up IST…any economy strives on tourism and all of these scams will catch up. And if you’re one of these shady workers...

Absolute joke. The machine didn't give me the receipt and they ignored me and then talked bad about me in Turkish which I happen to speak. I kept asking them to help me and why nobody is speaking to me and they said maybe I'll get it in 10 minutes.. at an airport.. I wish I could give zero stars.
