This was the worst dining experience I ever had. I had dined at Gigi Paris and Dubai and thats why I trusted to now dine at Bodrum for my husbands birthday but this place has made me hate the entire Gigi establishment. I booked a table 8 days ago for my husbands birthday for 7 people, I specifically asked for a table next to the view and told them explicitly that I dont want to have a vad experience on my husbands birthday and they informed me that all of their large tables are by the water so I wont have any issues. Our reservation was at 20:30 and we arrived at 20:30, they told us the table was not ready because the previous people did not leave yet. It took them 45 minutes to get us seated after we had to call the manager and complain 3-4 times. The manager and host was not helpful at all and just told us there is nothing they can do and we can leave if we want. After having a horrific 45 minutes and completely ruining our night, our table was at the very back of the restaurant. Worst of all, there was an empty table in the front for 7 seven people but when we asked why cant sit there they said that table is for owner of the restaurant (table remained empty for hours) and what kind or owner is keeping an empty table while causing their guests to have a horrible experience. After we sat down our chairs were wet, the service was extremely slow, the food arrived cold and is very very overpriced for the kind of treatment and service you receive. This was by far the worst dining experience of my life. I will not be returning to any gigi establishment and will be making sure that no one else puts themselves through this nightmare and then pays thousands of euros for the bill afterwards. This place should be closed down before it ruins the gigi...
Read moreHad one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life. The maître d’ and manager were absolutely rude, and the service was staggeringly bad. It’s clear they are understaffed, and the existing wait staff seemed more interested in dancing and entertaining than actually providing the level of service one would expect at this price point and supposed calibre.
I’ve dined at Gigi Paris several times, most recently just four weeks ago, and have only positive things to say about their Paris establishment. Unfortunately, the Bodrum branch is a completely different story.
Dishes arrived before we had any cutlery. A table of seven was served ice cream with neither serving spoons nor plates—by the time the plates (only four of them) finally arrived, the dessert was melting away. After we had tiramisu, I had to argue with the waiter about bringing new spoons—apparently, they expected everyone to dig into a shared ice cream using dirty utensils. I also had to explain to a waitress that the clear-colored drink she brought couldn’t possibly be the whisky I ordered.
We at least expected an apology, but both the manager and the maître d’ were unapologetic and blatantly rude.
I don’t know what Gigi Paris was thinking sending their worst staff to Bodrum. The place has clearly turned into a tourist trap (and a photoshoot backdrop for “ladies of the night”), and it won’t last more than a single season if this continues.
To any tourists: avoid this place like the plague. You’re better off dining at more established high-end Italian restaurants nearby, such as Paper Moon or Da Mario, and saving yourself from a terrible evening—and several thousand pounds’ worth of...
Read moreThe entire experience was an absolute disaster. The food was ice cold—not just lukewarm, cold—and completely lacking in quality. Even the bread served at the beginning was clearly stale, as if they were recycling leftovers from the previous day. That alone already set the tone for what was to come.
The service? Easily the slowest and most disorganized I’ve ever witnessed. When the food finally arrived (after a painful wait), it was simply dropped on the table with zero explanation of what was being served. No coordination, no basic etiquette. We were a group of 11, and not a single staff member bothered to help serve or support us—we had to do it ourselves, which is simply embarrassing for a venue of this supposed caliber.
We ordered drinks multiple times, and they either never arrived or showed up an hour later. Yes, an hour. We even spoke directly to the manager—her response was a mix of indifference and blank stares. Absolutely nothing improved after that conversation. In fact, the service dragged even more.
When we told them the beef was cold, they overcooked it and brought it back like that was an acceptable solution. It was shocking. And then came the final blow: a bill of over £200 per person for food that wouldn’t even pass at a mid-range bistro.
Dear Gigi team, if you cannot handle basic hospitality, you simply should not operate a restaurant in Bodrum. Charging hundreds of pounds for poor service, mishandled food, and a complete lack of professionalism is not just a disappointment—it’s bordering on fraud. You are not a luxury experience. You are a tourist trap dressed up...
