Be careful this restaurant is a disaster
We made our reservation through our concierge and on the day of the reservation they called to confirm the reservation and explicitly told us that the table is reserved just 2h for us. This was already shocking for me, no one ever told me upon reconfirmation that the table has a time limit. We arrived at the restaurant and the three female receptionist were already cold and not welcoming to us. Our table we got had a decent view and we liked it. The waitress was not attentive and could not speak English. We could not clearly tell her what we want. We advised her to make our food spicy, but none of the dishes were spicy. We asked 5x for spicy sauce, we got it in one of the last courses and they took it away again. The waiter clearly did not know what she was doing. Furthermore she served the first dish and did not serve the rest. Other tables were getting served the food and we weren’t, even though we had the same dishes. We got a cocacola and she poured it into a glass full of ice, we advised not wanting ice cubes. She went and strained the ice cubes instead of giving me a new coke. The waitress did not pour water continuously and only asked once if everything is okay, although she could see on our faces that we are not enjoying at all. We did not order the dessert or any alcoholic beverages because the waitress was giving us minute by minute bad vibes. Upon payment we talked with the manager of the restaurant and our feedback was not valuable for him, he offered to make it good that we come back and he will serve us. I am not ready to leave money in this restaurant ever again, i highly advise not to come here. You simply don’t enjoy this atmosphere with this toxic staff. I have to say that the food was tasting well, however food is not everything. Other Hakkasan branches around the globe performed much better, this one is on the last place.
The toilets were dirty and full of urine, they don’t have proper towels and were not clean.
Management and staff thinks they can allow themselves everything because they are a „top notch“ restaurant, but this place is not worth it, especially when they charge up to...
Read moreGood things first. View is amazing. And the atmosphere, the decor, all that is great. this one may very well be the best looking Hakkasan in the world. Tables are right on the water located in one of the most beautiful bays of Bodrum.
However, the food was... not good at all. We ordered the two dim sum platters. Steamed and fried. They were not bad, bur they were not something to write home about. Another appetizer I ordered was the short rib. The dressing and presentation was allright however it was dry, overcooked, tastless.
Than the main courses arrived, the Peking Duck. it was as if it was cooked earlier in the day and waited the whole day to be served. First of all it did not arrive as a whole duck and then carved afterwards. It was already rolled into pancakes with little plum sauce. It was dry, tastless. Cold. Really bad. Second part was supposed the be the remainder of the duck prepared in a wok pan. It was awfully salty, uneatable.
Second main course was one of the specials, the rib eye (however they listed it as tomahawk on the bill) it was cooked right, exactly like we asked for, medium rare. However the meat itself was chewy and really bad. even though the dressing was amazing and it was cooked prefectly.
The desert was ok, we had the chocolate sphere with brownie pieces and ice cream and caramel sauce (and somebananas) It was not amazing.
Even the espresso was mediocre.
To sum it all, it was a bad experience. The food was bad. The view and the atmosphere was amazing. Cocktails were very good too. But thats it. Combined with the prices that they are asking, i definetly not recommend spending one good dinner oppurtunity at Hakkasan at all. Go to Lucca...
Read moreThe servers were shockingly rude. As soon as we arrived and without greeting us properly, she informed us that it will rain at 9 o’clock, and we have nowhere to seat you if that happens. In any event, it never rained during dinner.
They are currently running on a limited menu.
They were out of every wine we ordered except the wines that were over 1000E/bottle. When we asked the server/sommelier what the solution was, she just left the table without another word. There were only two restaurants open at the Mandarin Oriental at this time and this was one of them. We were informed that they were made to stay open by the Mandarin Oriental and that they have intentionally not done any restocking of wine or other high end spirits since they will be closing in a few weeks.
We ended up moving to the bar to finish our meal, which ended up saving the evening after a very pleasant...
