The place, the atmosphere, the music are all ideal. Fish and the mezes are fresh (2024 edit: quality of fish and mezes went down significantly). The waiters are friendly, however the service is a chaos. Everyone is running around, while you always have to ask twice for anything (2024 edit: service seems to have improved).

When it comes to calamari or octopus, the chef simply lacks the competence. Although I instructed in detail, they still couldn't manage to serve a simple but good grilled calamari (2024 edit: again I instructed clearly again they couldn't make it) . All they had to do was to roast it 2 mins each side, and dash some olive oil on it. The problem is not only about this restaurant, overall Turkish fish restaurant chefs don't know how to cook calamari or octopus, they apply kebap logic, try to save money by not using olive oil but fake butter, add chilly peppers or soya sauce etc. Which just destroyes the dish.

And last but most important, we paid over 55 euros for octopus, calamari, shrimps and half a bottle of wine!! This is the same money you would pay in Italy for much higher quality. In fact if you cross to Greece, you would...

We noticed Meltem while driving to and from my brother-in-law's and the Konyaaltı beaches, and my wife has a nose for fish restaurants. She's very particular and loves well cooked fish.
