GR Steak House(Golden River) — Restaurant in Marmaris

Recommended by other guests and excellent trip advisor ratings we gave this a go on our last night. Starters were very good. Ribs and chicken wings were good as was the breads etc. We thought after this the mains would be great. Burger very thin, overcooked. Pasta was good. Fillet not bad but quite thin although perfect med rare it was not as tender as it could be. My wife had a turkish stone dish with beef the meat was actually quite tough. Service not bad, but been better looked after elsewhere. Nothing to do with my review but had 2 tables of chainsmokers next to us why do people do this?? Would be good to see a no smoking area. So my 3 star ok review is based on this being a steakhouse, the meat could have been better. P.S I was a butcher in a Scottish village who hand selected the beef from the Farm, so I do...

Beautiful restaurant serving lovely food. I have been many times during the two stays I have had in marmaris and have not found a restaurant as good. The steak is the best I have had, and I am not usually a keen steak eater but can not recommended it enough. Chicken curry is also amazing, so flavoursome and portions are very generous. I have been to the restaurant both with friends as well as alone and knew I would be made to feel comfortable and welcome. Great selection of cocktails and other drinks, and I am already looking forward to visiting the steak house again on my next visit to Marmaris. Simply? No. (1) Two of us ordered medium steak, but got well done steaks. (2) The waiter decided to yell for customers at the street (to get them to enter the restaurant) right next to my ear. I had to change my seat. (3) He sat with us on the table before we were even ready to order (very unsettling and awkward). We informed him that we were unready and he said "it's okay, I'm just sitting here", thus ridding us of any privacy to carry on our conversations as we decided what to order. (4) At the end as we were leaving, the same waiter yells at me insisting I thank him after the discomfort that was that service. I was left verbally hostage and had to thank him back so...
