On 17 February 2024, I paid a visit to Source Cafe. I wanted to order a nice breakfast with a flavoured latte. I ordered the morning sandwich (with jam, peanut butter and banana), oatmeal and the pineapple bowl with a flavoured latte salted caramel. After ordering these, I connected my laptop to the wifi and waited for breakfast with the latte. I sat at the table at the front of the managers' room because that table was free and there was an outlet I could use for my laptop. I waited a very long time for my order and after about 45 minutes I asked the waiter how long it would take. At that time, he was just preparing my latte and said breakfast was almost coming. He served me the latte which was delicious and well hot. But once breakfast was served to me (after 50 minutes of waiting), the oatmeal was cold, the sandwich was cold and the pineapple bowl had come to room temperature. I ate the sandwich. Then I wanted to eat the oatmeal but it was not tasty at all because it was cold. So I stopped eating it even though I love oatmeal. I was then so sad and disappointed that I spontaneously stopped craving the pineapple bowl. I reported to the waiter that the oatmeal was not tasty at all because it was cold. At that exact same moment, a waitress (the one with light skin) started laughing meanly. And she did so several times. I wanted to report to the manager that my order was served to me cold but he was not there. So I decided to call him. Through medium, someone asked the manager's phone number to the waitress with the light skin but she would not give the phone number. Finally, there was a woman in the library who gave me the manager's phone number. I called the manager and later he came to Source Cafe. I told him that I came to Source Cafe because I wanted to enjoy a nice breakfast but my order was served to me cold. I also told him that the light-skinned waitress exactly started laughing meanly when I reported that the food was not tasty at all because it was cold. But instead of showing empathy, I was suddenly cross-examined by the manager. He asked sternly how I knew the waitress was not smiling because of fun. I then said because her laugh sounded very different from when someone laughs because of a fun moment. And in the past, she has only treated me badly so I wouldn't be surprised if she was behind the fact that my order was served to me cold. But the manager went all defending her and thought I was wasting food because I didn't eat what I ordered. Which seems logical to me when the food is cold. Meanwhile, they brought the bill to me.They wanted me to pay for all the items I ordered. I refused because it was all cold when served. I feel that I am not the one wasting food but those who were indifferent and did not serve me the food while it was still hot. Since I couldn't come to an agreement with the manager, I said it would be better to go to the police to come to a solution. Then suddenly the manager became so so rude and abusive that he said they did not want to end up with police and said I was no longer welcome at Source Cafe. And then because he was so rude and abusive I thought ‘why should I still be polite enough to pay for the sandwich and latte when he is being so rude to me and protecting the light-skinned waitress who enjoys mistreating me every time I come? This is the upside-down world!" Once in the past, the light-skinned waitress put an extreme amount of salt in food I ordered. So much that it was inedible to me. That was in January 2024. Further every time I visit Source Cafe, she always finds a way to irritate and annoy me or even mistreate me. She is clearly trying to chase me away from Source Cafe. I have no further idea why she does that because I have never done anything...

Source cafe is a very good hospitable place with very good services, the coffee is really really tasty. It's one u can't forget it's taste for the rest of the time spent in Uganda. So many loving people here that u can't spend 2hrs without making new friends, the people are so social and welcoming. They welcome all kinds of people and there prices are affordable. They also have nice cakes at good prices, one other service that I saw was a church behind so if u wish to have some kind of prayers, u won't have to go far from your coffee table. They have street parking which the customer has to pay, it's not expensive at all. A few cents and u are good to go. There is access for the disabled to all the parts of the Cafe and cleanliness is at its best. Check the place out wen ur in jinja, am very sure u...

Source Café in Jinja is one of the town’s oldest eat outs dating to 1997.  It provides conference space, a wide selection of food, coffee, tourist information, library, and souvenir shopping. Located on Main Street, it has a very rich history which you immediately sense as you walk in.

100% of their profits go to other development projects in Uganda. Read more at kibogroup.

Their premium Arabica coffee is grown on the Kapchorwa slopes of Mount Elgon among the Bagisu people. In Jinja the parchment from the single-origin beans is removed and only the finest are hand selected. A master roaster then roasts the premium beans to perfection, providing an exceptional experience for the lover of either a dark or medium roast coffee.

I ran a travel company n I had taken our clients to Jinja but I can never ever take there any client again. I don't recommend any one to there. This is the worst place to ever shop from in Jinja. The customer care is so pathetic, the staff cheat customers by switching price tags. They sold us a broken piece at the price of a new one claiming we broke it ourselves. They are so fake. See pics of broken piece they sold to us. Thank God we got a better shop next door with far better prices and good customer service.

Good experience. The service was quick, the espresso tasty which motivated us to also buy 250g of coffee for 22.000 shillings. If you come here and drink/eat/buy anything the money will be used to give classes for locals. We saw a sewing class taking place in the backyard.
